25.01.2022 Lest we forget
25.01.2022 Yup, it’s a bit cold down in these parts! North of Brisbane, Qld but definitely not the weather we’ve been accustomed to! Lol How’s this going to work I wonder!
25.01.2022 So here’s the thing - with little vans the fridge is within arms reach from the bed and one should never, ever, ever put these little suckers in there..... night snacking is becoming a really bad habit for Pearl, Elliott and yours truely! Last night it was about 11pm and the 3 of us were up gorging - between us we ate over half the packet! Pearl and Elliott are such a bad influence ....
25.01.2022 This is usually the butterfly haven, but not many here today. Must be too hot!
23.01.2022 Well that was yummy - mouth still burning from the chilli Used the cold chicken/veg dish made earlier and added salad and balsamic/olive oil dressing. Haven’t had salad for a while as has been no room in fridge/freezer, hence the overindulgence tonight! Plenty of leftovers for 2 more meals!
23.01.2022 It’s all getting a bit crazy out there.... https://mobile.abc.net.au//backpackers-slammed-w/12166012
19.01.2022 Here is the fb page I mentioned in my last post if you are stuck on the road with no where to go. https://www.facebook.com/groups/fulltimetravellersaustralia/?ref=share
18.01.2022 Little rascals decided tonight to boycott chubb dog food but I found the solution! I’ve been feeding them less fresh raw chicken legs and wings because Chubb takes up less room in my freezer and I’ve been trying to ‘essential shop’ less often. Tonight they both boycotted me and wouldn’t eat the Chubb, so with some quick thinking I added milk powder and lots of grated cheese, crushed into the Chubb with a fork, and suddenly they both changed their mind! Dinner gone in a flash and they were scratching at the plate. Little buggers......
17.01.2022 Does anyone want to get up??!! Ok Elliott, I’ll take that as a NO then! Lol At some stage during the night they’ve swapped beds - Elliott’s on Pearl’s littler bed! Lol ... Oh the shenanigans!
17.01.2022 Preparing for dinner - having salad and cold chicken, potato, sweet potato, fresh chilli and thyme, onion, garlic powder and sesame oil mixture. So just made the stir fry chicken dish and cooling in a container before refrigerating. To make this I stir fried veggies and herbs, added chicken and when half cooked turned down the heat and covered using another frying pan to lock in the moisture (there’s nothing worse than dry over cooked chicken breast). So, now that’s done it’s time again to tackle that bush shower again!
17.01.2022 I am a member of a fb page which helps nomads/travellers find alternative accommodation or a park that will take essential travellers long term during coronavirus - there’s estimated to be around 75,000 people on the road in Australia. Recently we were asked if we wanted to be interviewed to air some of the challenges and ways in which people have been poorly treated by others. This is the result on ACA last night. https://9now.nine.com.au//aae0f1ce-647c-4db6-8ad7-7d4ddb40
16.01.2022 I think I’ve found the new butterfly haven
15.01.2022 The goanna-where van calling in her offspring again! What a beauty too! Not large enough to consume Pearl thankfully but where there’s one, there’s more! About time he/she turned up!
08.01.2022 I’ve got no care to nudie shower out there in that, so will just bring forward my sheet washing routine! Easy! Where there’s a will there’s a way.
08.01.2022 Caution: Arachnophobia trigger! One of our many pets here. This huge fatty-boomsticks leaving a trail of destruction as can be seen in the web!
08.01.2022 Early dinner and early to bed tonight , it’s been raining most of the day. Rearranged the freezer today and found crumbed chicken so dinner is crumbed chicken, topped with fresh chicken breast and beans plus mashed potato and sweet potato. It’s been a bit of an effort using only frying pan and skillet but pulled it off in the end. Delicious with plumb sauce and lots of leftovers for tomorrow.
06.01.2022 Tonight’s Anzac dinner - love heart shaped chicken schnitzel (is chicken breast really that shape or do they just shape them that way so people like me will buy them!? ). Followed by ginger nut cookies as no Anzac biscuits here - these ginger nuts have the same sugary crunch as the sugar cubes we used to feed our horses with (and ourselves at the same time!). Oh the memories! Hope everyone had a beautiful Anzac Day full of gratitude for those who fought for our freedom
06.01.2022 Nature is so incredible
02.01.2022 Some of furry nomads friend, Zoe’s artwork. Magnificent!
