25.01.2022 Team Nominations have closed and after a humungous effort by the committee to enter all the teams into the system, we are pleased to welcome 80 teams to The Fury Family for summer basketball 2020-21 We lost count of how many players we have placed into teams but last count was 58 and still a few to go!! We look forward to a massive summer

22.01.2022 LADIES BASKETBALL Its that time of the year again folks. The Mandurah Basketball Association are looking for more ladies to join their daytime basketball competition.

21.01.2022 Courtside Etiquette If you have never been down to the Basketball Courts before here are a few useful tips for parents: The chairs next to the scorers table are for the Coach, Team Manager and the subs (spare players) Do not sit on the base line to watch a game.... Do not walk along the baseline when the ball is coming towards you wait until the play in at the opposite end of the court. Do not walk along the baseline during free throws it may distract the shooter. Do not walk in front of score or player benches when the game is in progress. Always walk behind or on the other side of the court. A coach may stand, however if they are obstructing the game, the score bench may politely ask them to move or sit. Spectators are NOT permitted to approach the bench throughout ANY stage of the game or to enter the court (unless invited by the referee). Ensure bags and belongings are placed well under bench seats and water bottles are kept clear of the sidelines to avoid any potential trip hazard. Please do not allow smaller siblings to play courtside unsupervised. Do not play with a ball courtside while a game is in progress. Cheer and encourage your team. Parents are encouraged to cheer and praise the efforts of all involved and NOT coach from the sidelines or denigrate coaches to junior participants. If you are louder than the coach, you are too loud. ALWAYS REMEMBER TO HAVE FUN, THE PLAYERS ARE KIDS, THE REFEREES, COACHES AND MANAGERS ARE VOLUNTEERS- IT IS JUST A GAME See more

U17 Boys/ Mixed - Monday 7th December U13 Boys/U21 Men/Senior Women - Tuesday 8th December U17 Girls/U21 Women/Senior Men - Thursday 10th December U13 Girls/U15 Boys & Girls - Friday 11th December U9/U11 Boys & Girls - Saturday 12th December Daytime Ladies : Grand Finals - Wednesday 9th December. New Season begins Wednesday 3rd February. All competitions resume from Monday 1st February 2021

08.01.2022 The Mandurah Basketball Association are pleased to announce that we will be hosting a First Aid course for members and volunteers. This course will be conducted... by Royal Life Saving WA. This course will be held on Saturday 16th January at 2021 at the MARC from 8:30am - 5:00pm. Online pre-learning is required, pre-learning takes 2-4 hours to complete, depending on the individual. Progress is saved and participants can complete it over multiple sittings. The cost for this course is $109 per person. 07.01.2022 Important Parking Info If you haven't been to a basketball game before you may not have experienced the pleasant task of finding a parking spot when you arrive at the game. It can mayhem OR you can be prepared.... Arrive early. If you have a game before yours it will finish ten minutes before yours starts so your can prepare for your game. You need to be there at the very minimum for the start of the warm up and the coach may want you there even earlier. Head straight to the Rigel Street Reserve car park - don't even bother driving around and around. So many people do it and just end up going over the road anyway. Watch out for magpies. Do not park on the footpath or anywhere illegal. Do not leave any valuables in your car.

05.01.2022 Preparing Your Child to Play Basketball There will be lots of new players taking to the courts at the Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre shortly. Assure them they are not the only new player. ... Keep it fun Prepare them by teaching terminology and the very basic rules. This will help them understand the instructions by both their coach and the referees. And it’s also helpful for parents new to the game too
