With the legislation being voted on this Tuesday, and Senator Griff having the deciding vote, we must act now to ensure our elected representatives vote in our best interests!

23.01.2022 On Friday, Student Council will be joining forces with students from across SA to fight against the Liberal Governments horrendous attacks on higher education. These changes to fees, funding, and HECS-HELP are absolutely despicable but the only way we can help each other is to speak out and show the government how wrong they are! If you are able to do so safely we highly encourage you to come along with your friends and join all the students taking a stand against the attacks on our education

20.01.2022 Your FUSA Education Officer Benika Bhoola spoke at today’s snap action outside of Senator Stirling Griff’s office! Hear below on why Centre Alliance must vote against the Job-Ready Graduate Package and how you can support our campaign by contacting your local representatives

17.01.2022 Covid-19 isn't over, so why is Flinders University management silent on whether or not the academic support we successfully campaigned for in Semester 1 will be continued this semester? We need the weight of the student body alongside us to push for additional support. Please sign and share our petition here: https://www.megaphone.org.au//support-for-flinders-univers

12.01.2022 For the past week, Justice for George Floyd demonstrations in the US have filled the TV screens of our homes. But for many Australians, the reality of deaths in... custody is profoundly much more real and far reaching. Indigenous Australians are nearly 16.5 times more likely to die in custody than non-Indigenous Australians*. More than 400 Indigenous Australians have died in custody since 1991. All FUSA students and staff stand united in solidarity with the family of George Floyd, and with all people affected by the scourge of racial profiling. *https://humanrights.gov.au//indigenous-deaths-custody-chap #BlackLivesMatter #AboriginalLivesMatter

12.01.2022 Hear below from Josh our Student President on what FUSA and Student Council have been up to over the past 12 months Transcript can be viewed here: http://tiny.cc/presreport

11.01.2022 FUSA joins the National Union of Students in calling for greater action to support the more that 580,000 international students across Australia. It is truly disheartening and disappointing to witness the Federal Government, led by Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, disregard International Students and their struggles during this difficult time. International students have been acknowledged by most of the community for their countless contribution to society even duri...ng this difficult and unprecedented period of time. The challenges of international students are also the community’s challenge as a whole. Given the nation’s unpreparedness for this global health pandemic, the options available to international students are woefully inadequate. They cannot simply choose to leave or stay. The Prime Minister's comments yesterday regarding International Students have had a damaging impact on the safety and wellbeing of our International Student community. FUSA and Student Council have been working hard to provide support for international students, and ensure that our University does the same. We stand in solidarity with international students, and call on all students, staff and the wider community to do the same. We must stand alongside our international student community and provide them with our strongest support. We are only stronger together! Flinders University is updating both staff and students frequently about the developing situation and we’d ask you all to access these resources. Specifically, more information for international students can be found at https://students.flinders.edu.au/co/international-students Information about our COVID-19 Emergency Financial Support Package can be found at https://fusa.edu.au/covid19/
