20.01.2022 Fusion Tip: Insect Bites can be nasty and often happen when you are working in your garden. Treatment depends on the type of reaction you have and what has bitten you. If there is only redness and pain at the site of the bite, application of ice is the best reatment. Clean the area with clean water to remove contaminated particles left behind by some insects (example:mosquitoes). Refrain from scratching, this may cause an infection. Remember if the wound swells or pain persist see your doctor.

12.01.2022 Fusion project: Nine steps to growing a veggie garden Shopping list 1. 2 x planter boxes or a couple of good sized pots 2. 2 or 3 bags of potting mix (veggie or garden blends, enough to fill your pots)... 3. Seeds or nursery stock seedlings ( choose your favourite vegies, e.g. lettuce, tomatoes, corn, beans & carrots are good examples) 4. Fertiliser ( Kelp is organic & works well) 5. A small bag of compost matter (manure) 6. Some plastic tags (so you can identify what you are planting) 7. Some bamboo stakes and some ties (if you are planting taller seedlings) 8. A trigger spray bottle 9. A garden fork Technique 1. Find a suitable space around your house or unit (balcony space is fine), you will need an area that gets lots of sun. 2. Add your soil blend & turn with a garden fork. 3. After digging, add compost, organic matter and manure to ensure that the soil is rich and nutritious for the soon to be planted veggies. 4. Add some Kelp fertiliser. 5. Now you are ready to plant your veggies! Follow the directions given with the seedlings or on the back of the seed packet, plant in rows, label & tag each row. 6. Water them in well & keep up the water for the first few weeks until the plants have established themselves 7. Give your plants a deep soak a couple of times a week & spray a blend of kelp & water in between with your trigger bottle. 8. As your taller vegies grow, stake & tie them. 9. Harvest when ready and enjoy the great taste of home grown veggies.

10.01.2022 FUSION HANDY HINTS: Snake season is upon us, Spring is just about here and snakes are breeding and on the move. We should know because THE DUKE was bitten by an Eastern Brown in Sanctuary Cove last week! Thankfully, it was a dry bite so Dukie will be fine. So, be on the look out. Your unlikely to come across any be but if you do, don't approach or aggravate the snake. They will most likely leave by themselves. If they are keen to hang around (or inside the house) call your local wrangler.
