25.01.2022 ERGON ARE CURRENTLY RESTORING POWER TO TOWNSVILLE- If you have had water through your house/ business and or have visible water damage Ergon will remove the protection fuse at your property until you have had an electrician attend site. Once and electrician has tested the installation he will then submit an Electrical Works Request nominating your property is safe to be energised. Please call 47746139 if you require this as previously offered we will be conducting safety check ups and EWR lodgement free of charge this week if you require it.

12.01.2022 REQUIREMENTS FOR POWER RECONNECTION - Ergon have powered up a-lot of suburbs again and are working around the clock to continue to connecting more houses and bu...sinesses daily. If your in a flood effected area you need to make sure you get a Pre-Energisation inspection carried out before you will have power back on. 08.01.2022 Just as Townsville is grappling with a huge clean-up, so are we. Based on our early damage assessments of electrical infrastructure, it looks like around 2000 p...illars, 100 padmount transformers that supply the low-voltage distribution system, and 50 high-voltage ring/switching main units that supply the high voltage underground network have been inundated. Each of these needs to be cleaned of water, mud and silt and thoroughly inspected so our crews can then make whatever repairs are needed. It’s a big job, and it’s a critical element in being able to safely restore electricity supply to flood-affected areas. Heavy localised rain, thunderstorms and high tides have the potential over the next few days to hamper our crews’ ability to carry out essential work; however, we’ll continue to do everything we can to help Townsville get back on track. And a big shout-out to the customers: the kindness and understanding everyone's been extending to our people is humbling. We truly appreciate your patience, and we’re looking forward to being able to provide estimated restoration timeframes ASAP to give the community some certainty.
