20.01.2022 Was really nice to do something a little different this week - and doesn’t it look awesome with a bit of fire

20.01.2022 Update on the boat... after countless hours grinding the old paint, rotten wood and dodgy glass repairs we got back to a fairly clean hull. From there we cut out a large section of the old transom and glassed up a 650mm extension and new transom. Using a thin sheet of ply and some mould release we were also able to replicate the curve of the hull and glass up the hull extention. Fortunately the mould popped straight off and we were straight into some more grinding and filli...ng the strakes with a shredded glass filler for maximum strength and impact resistance. Next up is to decide on a method for new stringers, whether we glass in ply (traditional) or mould up some C section hollow glass (no wood = no chance of rot but a lot more complex). Safe to say this sled is getting well overbuilt and will easily last another lifetime
