25.01.2022 Lest We Forget.

25.01.2022 Here's a laugh and a groan as we head back into iso schooling again this week!

25.01.2022 Youth Homelessness, still an important issue.

25.01.2022 In 2019, our teams located across 17 communities, connected with over 28,374 people, housed and supported 354 people, trained 467 people and gave practical or material support to many more. ... In an age when young people are experiencing rising levels of bullying, anxiety, depression and isolation, we had young people come to programs and experience a safe culture, where they could really understand that they mattered. Find out more about what's been possible together, in our 2019 Annual Report: https://fusion.org.au/annual-report2019/

24.01.2022 Following 5 years of service as our CEO, Fiona Gunnion has chosen to focus on her community development roles within Fusion’s work in Victoria. We are now in the process of searching for a skilled leader, called to see transformed communities where young people thrive. Sound like you? Sound like someone you know? ... We would love your prayers and support to find the right person to lead our Organisation. Applications close November 13th. E-mail David Bartlett to find out more. [email protected]

22.01.2022 We are hiring!!! Looking for someone who loves promoting growth in young people, and strengthening their communities. Contact David Polhill for more information.

20.01.2022 Celebrating 60 years of Fusion Australia. This was a pretty big moment in our history!

20.01.2022 I’m a young homeless person What will you do with me? In 1985, two young people experiencing homelessness were sleeping in a dumpster in Melbourne. The boys awoke as they were being tipped into a compactor unit truck. Their screams were heard around Melbourne. The driver was only able to pull one boy to safety, the other young man died under the rubbish. They were 15. Our team knew young people around Australia, in situations just like these two boys.... The team were moved to action. Some of the team were talented performing artists who took to the streets, sharing the story of these two boys and educating passers by about youth homelessness. They would hand out tiny dolls written on each doll was a question.I’m a young homeless person What will you do with me? Confronting daily commuters, the media got on board, featuring on the 6:00 News, in newspapers and radio. Some of the team used their research skill to develop 5 white Papers to present to Parliament as part of the International Year of Youth. The White Papers outlined issues to do with youth homelessness, youth suicide, poverty, unemployment and the failure of the education system for the non-academic. These White Papers were a ground breaking way of documenting the harsh realities of life for many young people and brought them to the attention of those who could make a difference. While much has been done to prevent and support people experiencing homelessness in Australia, the reality is that tonight 116,427 people are experiencing homelessness in Australia. 42% are under the age of 25. This Homelessness Week we are so aware of the impact that housing can have on all aspects of a person life. 16.01.2022 Connection, not control.

16.01.2022 Linking Communities Network Ltd is proud to announce an expansion of our successful Womens Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service (WDVCAS) to include the enti...re Murrumbidgee region. After a tender process was undertaken we gained both Wagga Wagga service (to be known as Riverina WDVCAS) and Albury service (to be known as Murray River WDVCAS) from 1st July 2020. This adds to our already established Griffith WDVCAS, and permanency to the Albury service that we were contracted to fund for a six month period until June 30, 2020. LCN is a long standing organisation with over 40 years experience in the domestic violence field. We have local workers and premises in Wagga Wagga, Albury and Griffith and will cover the Murrumbidgee, Riverina and Murray River Police Districts for women and their children seeking protection orders through the criminal justice system. This important service will see the continuation of advocacy and support for women experiencing domestic and family violence in these areas. We are looking forward to working with communities across the region to address to highlight and address this important issue. We thank Legal Aid NSW for the opportunity.

15.01.2022 Fusion Op Shop Narrandera is your local go to!

14.01.2022 In an effort to continue providing an opportunity for young people to ‘know the past, change the future’, we are co-ordinating state based pilgrimages this year. From 12 to 16 April, young people will have the opportunity to explore their state, stop, listen and be transformed as they learn of the past, so that they can change the future. We don’t just need those opportunities in our youth, we need them in our adulthood too. As part of the Pilgrimage 2021, we will be hosting ...three live streams on our Facebook page. This is an opportunity to hear from a panel of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander friends and ask questions, as we celebrate culture, learn about the past and explore how we can be part of transforming our communities, so all can look forward to the future and thrive. The live streams will take place on on April 12th, 14th and 16th, on the Fusion Australia Facebook Page at 7:30pm EST. See more

14.01.2022 Support our mates over at LCN Griffith.

13.01.2022 The second in our series of panel discussions as part of Pilgrimage-21. Tonight we're looking at history; what can we learn about Australia's ancient past, but ...also what needs to be mourned and wrestled with from our more recent history. We need your questions, so if you have something to ask Naomi Wolfe, Paul Tanner or Brooke Prentis post it in the comments below.

13.01.2022 Every week we walk with people weighed down by the unending challenges that life throws their way. Love for these young people and families isn’t found in words, but in action. It’s showing up, digging in and staying around. This kind of love is costly, painful, messy. It’s the kind of love made possible by that very first Good Friday.... "Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds." Fusion Australia

01.01.2022 Scavenger Hunt! Post a picture of you and your #DonationDollar In a world-first, the Royal Australian Mint launched the Donation Dollar. A $1 coin designed to remind us to give.... If each Aussie donated just one Donation Dollar a month, together we'd raise an additional $300 Million each and every year! When you find a Donation Dollar in your change, you can help young people and their families thrive by donating it to Fusion. Keeping it in circulation to serve as a reminder to others to do the same. Find out more at: https://donationdollar.com.au/
