22.01.2022 Hiking camp 2021! Wow! We are blessed this Easter to be at one of the most beautiful places in Australia, O’Reillys Campground in the Lamington National Park. Today we had a very long drive followed by a very unique Birds of Prey show where we got up close and personal with some amazing winged creatures. We learned how they hunt, their place in the ecosystem and some small changes we can make to help support that ecosystem and stop these birds from declining in numbers in the wild. Then we had a lovely walk to watch the sunset over layers of mountains and the sounds of a waterfall. It was burgers for dinner and as we wandered tonight to try and find glow worms (no success), we did marvel at how bright and vivid the stars are here.
20.01.2022 We had a full day of training sessions today with lots of different topics to absorb. We covered self concept and self awareness, listening, giving feedback, mental health and also made everyone tackle some of our greatest fears and practice our public speaking. Then who doesn’t love playing in mud? We had an awesome time working as team to get through the mud pit challenge obstacle course. It was great to see everyone encouraging one another and working together so well. We finished off the night with a campfire and some games and marshmallows!

17.01.2022 That’s a wrap on Leadership Camp 2020! We are so grateful we still got to do a camp despite the weird year we are in the midst of. We are so proud of each of these young teenagers who put in the effort to listen and learn and challenge themselves and grow this week! So inspiring!!

15.01.2022 We’ve had a great day today, taking on the 11km walk on the Box Forest Circuit. We saw so many waterfalls, had to work together to brave a creek crossing after all the recent rain. We were back at camp for afternoon tea and some board games and frisbee. We have all worked hard and will sleep well tonight!

10.01.2022 We are looking for volunteers to help staff our op shop in Sippy Downs! We urgently need helpers for Wednesday’s and Fridays so we can stay open. All the funds raised through our shops go back into our youth programs to support local high school aged kids. Please contact us if you can help.
10.01.2022 We had a great time last week at our Summer Holiday Program! Our first one in 12 months as we missed July because of COVID. We made lots of new friends, got lots of sun, played tag in the Aqua Park, learned new skills and teamwork in our plane crash rescue simulation with XPeriences, even learned how to light a fire with flint, went hiking, played real life Among Us, had an epic Nine Square tournament and most of all created a fun, safe environment for our youth to thrive. We hope you carry these memories and the spirit of being welcoming and accepting of others into your school year for 2021. Stay tuned for July program!

05.01.2022 Do you want to help young people remain safe online? Continuing advances in technology have created a world that is both enriched and burdened. Digital literacy... empowers young people to reap the benefits of this online world, but they are also dealing with the associated dangers every day. We’re asking you to stand with them as they face this challenge. Whether it’s navigating how to use different apps safely or having the kind of relationship that means they will come to you when things don’t seem right, we all have a part to play. This Safer Internet Day how will you help young people remain safe online? For more information and resources to help you have the conversation, check out Office of the eSafety Commissioner #SID2021
