25.01.2022 MASSIVE TOY SALE! Fusion Sydney North are selling all their toy library toys! We have loads of toys that all need to go to make way for space for food storage. All profits go to Fusion’s local community work. WHEN: This Friday 3rd July from 12 - 4pm & Sat 4th July from 10-12.30pm WHERE: 5 Jersey Street Hornsby at the back of the community centre. Walk down the driveway into the courtyard. Fusion OpShop at 1 Jersey Street will also be open next door. Come and grab yourself a bargain. Feel free to make an offer! Everything must go!

24.01.2022 In the most recent school holidays the team in Sydney North ran their first school holiday program in over 4 years. Following the ease of covid-19 restriction...s in NSW, we saw a need to encourage young people out from behind their screens and re-engage with the physical world. As part of the holiday program we helped young people engage with nature and took them on some local hikes and ran a 2-day song writing workshop. Daniel Neil, Youth Work Co-ordinator, Fusion Sydney North. In an aim to help local youth process the world around them, the team considered the skills they had and what young people might engage with. One of our sydney north youth work leaders is a musician and was able to co-ordinate the song writing workshop; providing young people with the opportunity to learn some fundamental principles of song writing, connect and work with one another. The transformative and inclusive nature of music was truly on show, as people that usually struggle finding friends were able to connect and engage in these programs. Bianca* struggles meeting new people and making friends, BUT she loves music. This love of music was the common thread that brought each participant together and broadened her range of people to meet. After a few hours of collaboration and practice, the groups were ready to record their song, something which they were all excited about doing. . Music is amazing because it knows no bounds. We receive donations from various sources and for today only we have a huge amount of assorted fruit and vegetable bags & bread which we would like to give to those who need it. If that is you, please come and take what you would like from 5 Jersey Street Hornsby. It is available now. Please don’t be shy- we don’t want it to go to waste. But please also don’t touch what you aren’t going to take you all know the drill by now We will update this post once it has all gone. Update: there is still lots left at 5pm Monday. We are open till 6pm tonight, then food will be available from 9.30am tomorrow till it’s gone.

It all started with a group of young adults in Sydney’s North who kicked off The Attic, the first, and what would become the longest running, drop-in centre in the Southern Hemisphere. Rock bands, coffee and raisin toast were part of the place and the times, helping the team connect with the young people in a space where they could feel at home. With a heart to support the local ...young people to thrive this group, known then as Teen Crusaders, would later become Fusion Australia, spreading out across the country and making friends around the world. Today, Fusion teams share the same commitment as those young adults 60 years ago to see young people thrive as they find their purpose in community. The haircuts and clothes may have changed, and they ways we do youth work might be different, but we’re still about transforming communities so that young people can thrive in the whole of life. - #regrann See more

01.01.2022 A huge THANK YOU to Owen and the Hornsby Heights 1st Yarama Scout Group who ran a food drive and collected more than 650 non-perishable food items from the Hornsby Heights and surrounding community for our street pantry. When asked why he chose to organise the food drive, Owen said, " I think it will benefit others by providing food and pantry staples allowing them to have a good meal. Everybody deserves to eat!"
