22.01.2022 I can't believe this show is good. Actually it's very good. Great positive-vibe pandemic viewing. I may or may not have shed a tear in sentimentality. And laughter. (The NBC short episodes were pretty terrible. Watch only the new series on Apple TV)... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3u7EIiohs6U

21.01.2022 Fitzroy Thursday Mens Div. 2 Final: Little Feat 5 (4) - 5 (2) Milk Shalke Match report:... After Milk scored within the first couple of minutes, it looked ominous for Little in the 1st vs. 4th final. But when Soren slotted a steadier, the match well and truly was on. Rory reinstated the Milk lead halfway through the first and James pounced on a loose ball to tee Rory up for his second. An awesome save by Kieran in goal for Little kept the margin manageable. Half-time, 3-1 to Milk. Little managed a neat goal to start the second half, but were silenced from the resulting kickoff when Doug looped one over to Scott who forced it over the line on the second attempt. Two quick goals brought Little back on level terms at 4-4. The longer the game went, the more confident Little Feat looked. With 3 minutes to go, goalie Kieran sent them into ecstasy with a pearler from within his own half to give them the lead for the first time in the game. But it was short-lived with Doug and Rory performing a sweet one-two to level it again. 5-5 after normal time. Extra time saw both teams throw everything at their opposition, but to no avail. It was to be decided by penalties. Player of the Final, Kieran, made two saves in the penalty shoot-out giving Little Feat their fairy-tale victory against the odds. See more

12.01.2022 Footscray Monday Mixed Finals Div. 1: LV & Co 10-2 EA Sports After hard fought wins to make the final, LV & Co and EA Sports were both determined to take home the title. It was a game worthy of a final, and the ultimate score of 10-2 was not reflective of how intense and close the match was. Even though LV & Co raced to a strong start early, EA Sports were relentless and just kept coming at them. Tomo of EA sports was all over the court jetting around, but the team werent ab...le to convert. Every EA attack was stopped by LVs standouts: Nico, Michael, and Joanne with her super speed. LV & Co were relentless with Anthonys rocket long balls which lead to quick counter attacking goals to keep the EA team at bay, and in the end this was too great for them to overcome. The player of the match couldve gone to any of Joanne, Nico or Michael, but it was the constant pressure of Anthony the keepers rockets that broke EA and the game wide open, not to mention how solid he was with a barrage of saves, so he was the player of the final, but not by much. Div. 2 final: Secure Da Bagz 10-2 Deep Fried Bumblebees This was Deep Fried Bumblebees first ever final, and the team was up for it. The match began with both teams having good possession and some nice chances. Secure Da Bagzs sweeper keeper, James then became the impetus as he took over the match with his super saves and counter attacks as they raced to an early 3 goal lead. The Bumblebees didnt back down however, and got 2 goals back, but werent able to overcome the eventual winners who, lead by James counter attacks were ultimately too good on the day. The Bumblebees although disappointed, should be proud of how they kept fighting till the end despite the scoreline, but due to James control of the match he was the undisputed player of the game. Secure Da Bagz secured their promotion to division 1, as the Bumblebees hope to make it back to back finals for the new season.
10.01.2022 Footscray Monday Men's Spring Season Finals Results: Div. 1: Spaceballs 7-4 Peloteros Div. 2: Independiente 6-3 Moose Knuckles... Div. 3 Left Winging It 5-3 The Marsh Boys
10.01.2022 Footscray Monday Mixed Finals Div. 1 saw the new team John Cena get the win 5-3 against Quinn's Disciples in a very high standard contest. The first half was very defensive with barely a goal between them, and turned into a goals fest in the second half when the game opened up. Div. 2 was another cracker of a game with Evolution FC leading for most of it, but No Worry refused to give up. The game was levelled at 6 a piece, and No Worry busted the net in golden goal extra-time to take out the championship 7-6.
10.01.2022 Two big games on the horizon this weekend with the Europa final and the Champions League finale. Two players of note who highlight persistence and resilience are Romelu Lukaku and Serge Gnabry. Gnabry was an academy wonder kid who didnt realise his potential at Arsenal, was shunted off to West Brom and then decided to try his luck at Bayern (of all places), transforming himself into one of best goal scoring wingers currently playing. Lukaku was bounced around Chelsea as a n...aive purchase to replace the irrepressible Didier Drogba and then sent to Man United and subsequently called fat and lazy by Gary Neville (not the best coach of all time.) He had a manager who believed heavily in him, Antonio Conte, who wanted him at Juventus but finally got his man at Inter Milan. Hes scored in 10 successive Europa league games and like Gnabry is integral to his team potentially winning this weekend. These two players have further attributes complimenting the resilience and persistence, which is an acute awareness of being a team member and harnessing team spirit. This manifested with Lukaku in the game against Genoa late last year with his generosity of spirit and support. Inter won a penalty and Lukaku gave the penalty to the 17 year old debut player Sebastiano Esposito. He scored. The crowd chanted his name. He gave his mum a hug. Esposito! Enjoy the games if you have time. Keep an eye out for these two players. I will be talking to a football like Tom Hanks in Castaway and viewing the games (ease up on the diving though fellas!) Video of the penalty: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_O3n0Uec7Bs Article on Seb Esposito: https://www.inter.it//interview-sebastiano-esposito-goal-s

09.01.2022 A song of perfection. A trope of mindfulness. We are not the worry we feel, but the awareness behind it. We hope you are doing alright. If we can help with something, ask and see. This is our message to you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HNBCVM4KbUM
09.01.2022 Carlton North Men's Tuesday Finals Div 1. Final: Destination Club 8 : 7 Hardscore Defendency An energetic first half with lots of chances at both ends and a 2-2 score 10 minutes in. But Hardscore were creating more chances and were able to take a couple before halftime--including a delightful chipped corner converted by Chris on the volley.... The second half seesawed wildly with both teams intent on winning and when Jason completed his hat-trick with 5 to play, Destination Club led 7-6. Hardscore would not give up that easily though, and an attempt to prevent an equaliser by Destinaton led to a penalty which was belted into the back of the net. All square at 7-7 at full-time. Neither team was going to relent in golden goal extra time with the first of two 3 minute halves maintaining the stalemate. It took an absolute dream hit from Jason from a standing start on the halfway line--his fourth for the night--to send the Destination Club team into delirium, taking the title in only their second season in Division 1. Div 2. Final: Lads on Toure 6 : 1 Ste-rugglers A cagey opening saw the score tied at 1-1 after the first few minutes of play. Lads On Toure were clinical in front of goal, though, and broke away to a 5-1 half-time lead. Ste-rugglers managed to stem the flow after the break, but were unable to score themselves.

05.01.2022 Footscray Tuesday Mixed Finals: Pool A: Sunshine Bears 2-0 Hangry FC After two incredible semi-final victories, tensions were high from the second the game kicked off. Both teams demonstrated a compact style of futsal, making it extremely difficult for either team to get a clean shot away.... Sunshine bears were the first to break the ice, scoring the only goal of the entire first half courtesy of a brilliant passing move finished off by Mon. Sunshine bears came close to taking a two goal lead in the early stages of the second half as they hit the cross bar which then deflected back out into play. Both Hangry and Sunshine Bears put on a defensive zoning masterclass, though both teams missed the open net on a couple occasions where gaps opened up. With less than three minutes to go Hangry were pushing for their equaliser, however they narrowly brushed the wrong side of the left post with a header. However, sunshine bears sealed the victory with a strong counter attack, going on to win the game 2-0 Pool B: Dont Worry 9-3 Yellow Cockatiels Credit to both teams for making it to the finals! Dont worry took an early lead with a smooth back heal goal from one of their key strikers! Though Yellow Cockatiels gave everything in their power to get an equaliser, Dont Worry continued to dominate and be clinical in front of goal, stretching the lead out to 4 goals to 2 at half-time. By the second half, the Yellow Cockatiels were running out of legs, though they gave it there all making Dont Worry work for their victory. The end result was 9-3. Good luck to both teams in the new season!
