22.01.2022 Great story from one of of my LinkedIn colleagues: The biggest driver of competition in the Australian mortgage market over the past 25 years has been mortgage brokers. Commissions paid to broking businesses underpins this competition. ... I could give a dozen or more reasons why broker loans are larger than loans written through branches, but heres some: 1) Brain Drain - the smartest, brightest mortgage bankers all became brokers. Ok most of them. Complex larger transactions ... who you going to call? Some pimply faced graduate or someone who knows what they are talking about? 2) Time - Brokers dont have time to drive all over town for small deals, and naturally chase the larger better paying deals... like pretty much every business, in every industry in the world. 3) Borrowers - whats the maximum I can borrow? Ask a banker with 1 option. Ask a broker with 37 options. Come on! These dots are not hard to join. Borrowers, not brokers decide loan size, loan term, repayment type. CBA say they will cut commissions if the others do. No surprise here.., more profit, but lets hope they are on their own. Most banks see the exceptional value brokers provide to consumers, and banks. By the end of this RC all participants in the mortgage industry will have a much clearer picture of whos who in the zoo.

17.01.2022 Interest rates have been cut by 0.25% by the RBA and already seeing some lenders not pass on the full amount to their clients. So important to have your home loan rates reviewed!!!

Mortgage Brokers provide choice, advice and support for clients. CBA wants to destroy competition in the market and look after their profits and shareholders.
