21.01.2022 Oli Le Lievre is one of 11 young ag-enthusiasts on the FFN Board. Oli is a consultant with KPMG, as well as starting his own organisation @humansofagriculture_ and loves using his annual leave to get out and help his mates with sowing, harvest or just general sheep work (hes the one with double thumbs up for ag). I love being part of the FFN, it provides me an opportunity to constantly be inspired by the people we have in all areas of our industry. As a young person workin...g in an urban area Im really fortunate that I get to bring a background in primary production to my corporate roles. In order to have a strong ag sector we need engaged, educated and ambitious young people in the industry, so thats where the work we do at FFN becomes so incredibly important. While Im not on farm everyday, I do try and take the chances I have to get out to mates places and roll my sleeves up. Front of mind for me is how I can continue to contribute to ag and rural Australia, and as an organisation I cant wait to keep working with our members from across Australia to ensure the future for our industry and importantly for young people in agriculture is incredibly bright. 16.01.2022 Families are complex. Business is complex. When you put the two things together, it's hard. The Longworth's run South Bunarba - a large property near Mungindi in northern NSW, just south of the QLD border. It's been in the family for 4 generations, and succession planning has been something the family have talked about for years. The kids always thought they'd come home one day, but when they were thrown the curve ball of a divorce and a sudden illness, their best laid plans ...were put to the test. Keen to hear the Longworth's tackled succession? Have a listen to the PROPOGATE PODCAST, created by the Young Farmer Business Program Their two-part story is one of four families that share their succession starts, stops and successes in Season 2 of Propagate - listen here: https://youngfarmer.farmtable.com.au//episode-2-successio/

15.01.2022 Future Farmers Network directors regularly give their opinion on the latest news, events and issues in agriculture for an article for Australian Community Media. Heres the most recent yarn from FFN Director Tim Flynn. "Ongoing Drought, Bushfires and now COVID-19 have a lot of people asking what is next for Rural Australians? The answer is simple OPPORTUNITY. If you sift through the mainstream media to find the positive articles around COVID-19 you will notice a common them...e. That theme is the strong State and Federal Government push for a Bush Led Recovery. It would be remiss of us not to consider the residual trauma and battles of people in the bush after years of facing devastating drought and bushfires, with many areas still in a recovery phase and a small percentage still drought declared, and we must also consider that many rural businesses are still struggling with COVID-19 social distancing restrictions. This recognition of the past is important, though lets consider all the indicators the time for a rural renaissance is now!"

12.01.2022 Olivia Falkiner is one of 11 young ag-enthusiasts on the Future Farmers Network Board. Shes a Senior Consultant at KPMG Food & Agribusiness, as well as still being heavily involved in her familys mixed farming operations in the central west of NSW. "Im really enjoying being a Director of the FFN. As the only industry body for under 35s, we provide scholarships, subsidised tickets, networking and educational opportunities to people who may not have otherwise had access to them. As a female in agriculture whos currently operating in the corporate ag world but with a foot still in primary production, its great to be able to work with both sides of the farm-gate - given that its the connection between these two that the industry relies on."
