25.01.2022 Dividing and potting up comfrey (Symphytum x.) These little fellows will be ready to plant out in a month. They’re an essential part of any garden. Filling the role of ground cover, mineral accumulation, nutrition and injury treatment.

24.01.2022 Specialising in converting low-life lawn into diverse, productive gardens.

24.01.2022 The general feeling you can imbue your life with when you give up ground to natural succession. Popcorn Cassia; enriching soil life, feeding pollinators and providing helpful company to the Sugarcane.

22.01.2022 I’m having a final clear out of the nursery!Saturday 18th from 7am till 10am at 81 Leamington st, Berserker . Basement prices. Now is the time to plant your backyard orchard!

21.01.2022 Morning harvests. Excellent nutrition.

21.01.2022 Upcycled some ragged land yesterday for Kate, 167 trees in the ground. This is the point where runoff water first comes onto their land, her dense mini forest will filter the input and dissipate its erosive energy. Plus now she’s got about 50 different fruit species in her larder. Check it!!

16.01.2022 A sweet sweet potato hillock in the nursery. Why? In the confines of my nursery there’s no space to grow annual greens, the perennial Kumara though has very nutritious tips and it provides young seedlings with a mellow, shadier climate.

16.01.2022 Fully grown hedge in six months?! It’s easy with Pigeon Peas (Cajanus Cajun).

15.01.2022 A little backyard reforestation in suburban Rockhampton, 20 fruit trees and about 30 support species to kick start Louise’s food foresting career.

11.01.2022 This Saturday I’ll be talking plant at the zoo. I’ll have a selection of fruit trees for sale to support a world ‘for’ Chimpanzees. For what but fruit, fruit and fruit does a Chimpanzee eat? Should we eat more fruit too?! Are we humans or are we... humanzees?!?! Answers to these questions and more at the.. zoo. https://www.facebook.com/events/2182120118677856/?ti=ia

10.01.2022 I’m working on a job for a lovely lady who has the passion but not the energy to manage this steep little hillside. We’ll be planting some fruit trees, perennial herbs and ground covers, and mulching with onsite prunings. We’ll try and lessen the effect of heavy rain and reduce run off.

09.01.2022 A young Poinciana(Delonix Regia) two months after its first sizing chop. Serving multiple functions; letting valuable light through in the winter, filling out by summer to shelter a large area, in this process of growth and cutting back we accumulate a mass of prunings to mulch with. The poinciana also feeds thirsty birds and bees in its prolific flowering.

02.01.2022 Papaya trunks (Carica papaya) past their prime, make amazing mulch. Internal, fibrous matting holds moisture and facilitates micro life. Here they’re nourishing the juvenile Asparagus clumps (A. Officinalis).
