25.01.2022 Did you know, Pumpkins are actually a fruit? With the recent Halloween festivities our kindergarten children have been asking lots of questions about pumpkins. ‘What’s inside a pumpkin?’ ... ‘How do you grow a pumpkin?’ ‘What do pumpkins taste like?’ With these questions our Kindergarten Educators and children decided to investigate further. The children engaged in a group time, discussing the size, texture, colours of a pumpkin. The children discussed the process of growing a pumpkin. The children then collected the pumpkin seeds to dry out and plant in our vegetable garden. The children will enjoy eating this pumpkin in the form of pumpkin scones later this week.

24.01.2022 At Future Super Stars ELC Sunshine our Toddler and Kindergarten children have been very busy this morning planting our native plants into our yarn circle. The children participate in a morning gathering within this space discussing ideas and reflecting on the day ahead. 17.01.2022 Today at Future Super Stars we had one of our most loved visitors attend the service in celebration of Naidoc week. ‘Nan’ brought in some very special Indigenous items that represents her heritage. The children enjoyed listening and learning about Aboriginal culture, the children enjoyed sharing with ‘Nan’ their ‘Welcome to country’ and ‘Inanay’ before they shared a yarn around our yarning circle. ... We continue to celebrate our Native Australians with embedded practices that reflects respect and knowledge of the Indigenous people within our everyday practice. We are proud to acknowledge the Wurundjeri people as the traditional custodians of these lands and waters in which we live, learn and grow.
