16.01.2022 On this day in 1948, the first Holden rolled off the assembly line at Fishermen’s Bend. Many saw the event as evidence of national maturity, proof that Australi...a had escaped its pastoral beginnings and embraced the modern industrial age. The Holden 48-215, also known as the FX, was the first car wholly manufactured in Australia it was economical, sturdy and stylish and was immediately popular with the public. 13.01.2022 Some rare behind the scenes pics of one of the greatest concept car builds to exist, but I might be a little biased . Although a decade ago, I was lucky enough... to spend many years with the Holden Design team building some incredible cars. Unfortunately last week the fabrication facility in Melbourne Australia closed its doors for the last time. It was pleasure working along side such a talented crew. #holdenefijy #conceptcar See more

04.01.2022 FX/FJ HOLDEN NATIONALS COMING TO COOMA NEXT YEAR 'Old Holdens will never Die, because we love them’ The 2020 Holden FX/FJ Nationals will be held in Cooma from 28 December 2020 to the 1 January 2021. It is expected that some 180 to 300 cars will be entered for the Nationals from all over Australia, which will bring a huge influx of car enthusiasts and visitors and provide a large benefit to Cooma and regional businesses. The Cooma showground will be a focal point for viewin...g the cars with some days set aside for cars to do runs throughout the Region. The 2020 Nationals are being run by the FX/FJ Car Club of Canberra and the Cooma Car Club. The first joint meeting for the 2020 Holden FX/FJ Nationals was held on Sunday 17 February at the Cooma Car Club Clubhouse to get the ball rolling with a focus on putting key planning agenda in place. The Nationals which were first held in 1977 in Tumut, are held every two years in various locations throughout Australia. All modified or stock Holden FX and FJ vehicles are welcome. The Holden FX, which was originally designated Holden 48-215 was manufactured by General Motors Holden between November 1948 and October 1953. Development of the 48215 began in 1944 based on a design that was originally penned in the United States by Chevrolet. The term FX came into common use later to describe models with a new telescopic shock absorber front suspension introduced in 1953. The FJ, which was based on the 48-215 series, broadly followed the silhouette of its predecessor and was the second model of the "all Australian car" manufactured by Holden. The FJ sedan was manufactured in Standard, Business and Special trim levels. A coupe utility was announced in October 1953 which was followed by a Panel van derivative in December of that year.
