22.01.2022 Sad to learn of the passing of multiple Australian sidecar champion Doug Chivas. Chivo was fast on anything modern or historic and had raced at the highest level internationally. He was also a very good engineer and not afraid to try what others would shy away from, like a supercharged 600, a rotary Norton and his last championship winning König. His help with getting others on track will not be forgotten by the many who would not have made the track otherwise. He leaves an amazing legacy in the sidecar world. Rest in peace Doug.

22.01.2022 4-weeks till the first round of the Dunlop Super Series kicks off at Qld Raceway. For those who have been racing elsewhere and have had a unlucky start to the season and have no chance of making up a huge points lead you now have an opportunity to start again. If you want to test the speed and limits of your motorbike in a controlled environment, without speed cameras, trucks and cars, or the many other potential hazards that you get on the road then a ride day is a great way to spend the day riding and socialising with like-minded motorcycle enthusiasts and your riding mates. A Tyre Service is available providing all types of Pirelli tyres at a great price along with professional advice, a Cafeteria with a variety of items is available for breakfast and lunch and where family and friends are welcome to come out at no charge to enjoy your ride day with you. Our aim is to maximise the amount of time you have on track, QR Moto ride days offer groups where you can choose according to your skill and experience levels. Rider training is provided throughout the day to increase rider’s confidence and skills to an acceptable level. The Induction group is mandatory for new riders unless you can prove an acceptable level of competence. 12.01.2022 Breaking News! ... New date for final round of 2019 Dunlop Super Series. The final round will now be run two weeks later than previously advertised. Friday afternoon will be a practise and Saturday the 16th is now race day!

10.01.2022 Its the final chance to get an entry in for Round 1 of the Dunlop Super Series at QR Raceway this coming weekend. Contact us asap if you would like to race in either the Race Your Mates class or the Superbikes, Formula Oz, Supersport, Am-Sport 600, 400 Supersport class or the Pre Y2k Open Capacity or 600 classes.

10.01.2022 RACERS Licence expiry date extensions: RACERS has been waiting to see how the COVID-19 situation played out before announcing how it will extend the expiry date...s on your RACERS licence. We considered a flat 90 day extension but decided that was not the fairest way to do it. Different people have been affected in different ways, including financially, so we developed a more flexible and appropriate system for deferring the expiry dates for you. Since March 23rd, every night the RACERS licence Management System has been adding one day to the expiry date of your licence and it will continue to do so until the next time you use it at a RACERS sanctioned event. In other words, we stopped the clock on your licence; if it had 180 days to run on March 23rd it will still have 180 days to run the next time you use it. The clock will NOT start counting down again until either 1st January 2021 or from the date you next use it. If you have any questions or queries please contact RACERS on 1800722377. 05.01.2022 The Future of Motorcycle Racing Post Covid-19! I know everyone is itching to get back on the track and for good reason, but how well will our sport fair post Covid-19? Even before this latest challenge motorcycle racing in many States was in serious decline when it came to the number of participants and events and had been for quite sometime. The fact is most people who race work for themselves and this shut down will have hurt many small businesses, many unfortunately will n...ever recover or will take years to. I have spoken with a number of clubs in recent times and some admit that for years they have, if they are lucky, been running events that often only just break even cost wise and have been living off of declining savings in their bank accounts from when times were better. I am interested to hear what others think, why? If this sport is to have a healthy future then there may need to be fundamental change introduced to try and grow it again so it is financially sustainable for participants and clubs alike. I believe this conversation need to be had before it is to late. Your thoughts? cheers, Terry O'Neill
