21.01.2022 MELBOURNE UPDATE All lessons and ensembles will move online as of tomorrow until Wednesday next week. Please expect to and plan for staying online for all of next week. A message from our Director:... Hi all, As you all know, Wednesday we got the fantastic news that we were back in our Victoria University studio for the first time in nearly a year. A few minutes ago, it was announced that we are going into a level 4, 5 day lockdown. It can all change so quickly! I just wanted to say - stay positive! Grab your sticks and use this time for a bit of practice. We will see you online, and hopefully it won't last too long.

19.01.2022 Happy International Women's Day! (For yesterday..) We have decided to post a photo of the amazing, truly inspiring woman Viola Smith. Viola was a big band drummer, playing professionally throughout the 20's - 70's and was one of the first professional female drummers. She was also a founding member of the Schmitz Sisters Family Orchestra, an orchestra of entirely female musicians. What's even more impressive is she could still play at 100 years old! She lived to 107 and was still playing around the time of her 107th birthday.
