25.01.2022 I know, Im posting again! This is just too important not to share though. Parents and teachers should take heed.

24.01.2022 Today I was shown an email that was written and sent to the school I am teaching at this week by a parent of a student that attended my "Sugar, The Perfect Poison" session yesterday. I always have the belief that if you can change the attitude of even just one student in a class then you have succeeded. I believe my work for the day was a success! Hi Jeanette... I just wished to take this opportunity to provide some feedback to you on the inflatable classroom and the Sugar information session your class attended earlier this week. My quick trip to the supermarket, after work last night, proved to be more of a field trip than a shopping trip. Jack proceeded to give a highly educational in-service on the level of sugar in foods, how much sugar we should be consuming vs how much (on average) we are consuming, which products to buy when comparisons are available and then he finished it off with a quiz for me! Needless to say, the items we purchased while shopping ended up being quite different to the items on the original shopping listwith some healthier choices. Very clearly the presentation had an incredibly positive impact on him and his retention of the knowledge and facts was wonderful to experience. My thanks to you for providing this learning experience for him. Kindest regards Jo

24.01.2022 Posting this again because I had a grammatical error! Always get someone else to proof-read your work!

24.01.2022 Here is the final video that I have just completed for my school holiday program "Spy School". This took me over ten hours to create! I think I am going mad!

24.01.2022 Agent FYI and Charlie have been busily carrying out missions this term from Goolwa to Murray Bridge and everywhere in between. They have witnessed some incredible reactions from kids in the cyber bullying program, Power Games, proving that this is such a powerful and much needed message to get out there.

23.01.2022 Agent FYI and Charlie are super excited to be back in the swing of school visits. They're both following current social distancing guidelines, wiping down equipment between sessions and using hand sanitiser!

23.01.2022 The FYI Spy School OSHC program is up and running again and Richard and Charlie are having a blast with the recruitment of more Junior Secret Agents! Bookings are being taken for the July school holidays so make enquiries now.

22.01.2022 For the first time, the World Health Organization (WHO) has said it backs a sugar tax. Why is this big? Well, when the WHO says something, you know people are g...oing to take it seriously. Especially when it reports that globally there are "41 million cases of obesity in kids under five". Heres what else the WHOs new report is recommending. See more

20.01.2022 Latest News!!! Commencing in January 2015 our new school holiday program. Indulging all our childhood spy themes and all the things we love about spies. From avoiding laser tripwires (just like Catherine Zeta-Jones) to Nerf-Gun target practice and secret code breaking. This will keep those Junior Spies entertained during their sabbatical.

17.01.2022 Just in time for 2020 I can announce that I have a NEW PROGRAM for Upper Grades called "How To Fail Successfully!" It is all about resilience and Growth Mindset. Failure is not the opposite of Success it is an essential and vital part of it. I am so excited to be able to teach this and looking forward to see the reaction from teachers and students. These are the opening and closing slides that accompany this lesson. Bring on school going back. Im ready to fail with style!!!!

17.01.2022 I received an email from the Principal of St Marks Lutheran at Mt Barker today that is one of those messages that keeps me motivated and the reason why I love what I do so much. It reads: "The school will welcome your program every two years so please book us in for the same time in 2018. It was a blessing to have you work with the children and I know that the program you offer certainly has an impact on how they view their world." I think I might be doing something right!

16.01.2022 New report: the University of Adelaide recently revealed that kids aged 910 can consume a whopping 156g of sugar per day! (More than 10x the recommended daily intake.) So, instead of lollies and sugary cereals, try these simple swaps instead?

16.01.2022 Just saw this article and as I know there is going to be public outrage about this, I wanted to share with everyone that FYI Education has never sought funding from Government or private donations in order to provide Drug and Health Education to our children. Thank you to all the schools that have supported FYI from Richard Rowland (CEO, Program Developer, Secretary, Bookings Co-ordinator, Finance Manager, Dog Trainer and Groomer and alias Secret Agent FYI!).

16.01.2022 So excited to say that bookings for our FYI School Holiday Program have been incredibly successful. There is only one available day remaining in January. Richard and Charlie are looking forward to enrolling all of those mini Secret Agents into FYI Spy School!

15.01.2022 Agent FYI and Charlie are super busy with their school visits and the Covid safe routine they worked together on is well under way and working superbly. Just need to stop Charlie from licking the hand gel from his paws!

15.01.2022 I received an unexpected email from a wonderful teacher today that made me smile and feel proud about what I do and how lucky I am to be working my dream job: Just wanted to put in writing how much the kids (and I=NO 1 fan) LOVED your session today my friend. Thank you for your continued enthusiasm, sense of fun and silliness Richard. Your passion for educating young people has never diminished and your visits provide not only valuable health ED curriculum content, comic reli...ef, but also a much needed chance for us teachers to take a breathe and sit back and be inspired and entertained. Much love and many thanks. I wish you well. Tracey. Tracey Constable Classroom Teacher Lobethal Primary School

15.01.2022 Could you all please take a minute out of your day and have a look at this extremely powerful site regarding cyber safety. Brilliantly created and really chilling. This should encourage us all, not just teenagers, to have a good look at our privacy settings.

14.01.2022 Richard and Charlie are having lots of fun with FYI Spy School. The OSHC kids are all passing with flying colours and there are some superb Junior Secret Agents joining the ranks!

14.01.2022 Charlie, the top secret spy dog and Agent FYI have had a fabulous break during the school holidays and have seemingly stayed out of mischief! Theyre both looking forward to another busy term where theyll be busily training and recruiting more mini secret agents!

14.01.2022 Just received this wonderful report from Elizabeth Downs Primary School: "Thank you so much for coming to work with our year 6 and 7 students. Your program on cyber safety was fresh and up to date. Loved the engaging presentation and the use of exciting gadgets. Brilliant job Richard" I love my job!

12.01.2022 Agent FYI and Charlie are looking forward to another busy time ahead with a fully booked term. The new upper grades Cyber Bullying program is well received and proving to be very successful. We are privileged to have had the busiest year yet and starting to take bookings for 2019.

11.01.2022 Every day I find myself talking to kids about safety and the danger of giving away personal information to strangers. Just in my general conversation to them I can always find out their birthdays, their addresses and even their Mums maiden names. This I do by just being friendly to them during the lesson and engaging them in fun conversation. The teacher always sits back in shock/surprise as they can see what I am doing and cannot believe just how easy it is to do. The video... attached also proves just how important it is to have these types of conversations with our kids. "Strangers" are not always the creepy type of person that we make them out to be. It is also the "nice" people we have to be wary of. It is terribly sad that this is so but this is what we all have to deal with now. I can already see a brand new "mission" having to be written by me just on this very topic. See more

11.01.2022 So I have finally finished writing a brand new program on Sugar aimed at grades 5/6/7. It "only" took me five weeks to create when I thought that I could accomplish this in two! I think that it is a message that has to be shared. With 63% of all Australians being overweight, and 25% of them being obese (thats about 4 million obese Australians!) we have to acknowledge that we have a problem. One in four children are overweight! Im hoping to be able to educate our next generation on this topic and hopefully inspire them to educate their parents. The program is called "Sweet Talk - The Perfect Poison".

11.01.2022 Totally thrilled to announce that I finally have my new web page up and running. It will be tweaked with a few more photos but it Im happy with it. www.fyieducation.com.au

11.01.2022 This is why I talk about bullying.

09.01.2022 It's almost the end of another term and time to tell you all how incredibly grateful I am for the opportunities that I'm given to help the children of our future to create positive relationships. Thank you FYI followers for your amazing support!

08.01.2022 Looking forward to returning to Victor Harbor Primary School next week and great to see they are getting back on their feet after the devastating fire!

07.01.2022 I think that all teachers can relate to this!

07.01.2022 Had the pleasure of working with Richard yesterday. He ran an engaging and fun session with my Year 5s called Just Click Yes. I highly recommend this program ...as part of the conversation you have with your students about cyber safety. The programme is supported by lots of useful links for the teacher to follow up with students later. Not only did my students love it, but they learnt a lot in a non-threatening way. Students who participated in this programme last year still have a lasting knowledge based on the information Richard presented. Thanks Richard! See more

05.01.2022 Agent FYI and Charlie were solving mysteries in the Top Secret Headquarters this week with the help of some super helpful Junior Secret Agents!

04.01.2022 This is how easy it is to get information on someone. I do something similar with the teachers at schools during a lesson and they are always shocked that I can have a picture of them on my screen during a lesson. Its when I edit that picture to make them look like a clown or a gorilla and ask the students should I re-post this photograph that they get concerned!

04.01.2022 This is a great article and Page for anyone with kids that are allowed to go on the internet. Easy to read and valuable tips. Agent FYI.

04.01.2022 News flash...Agent FYI and Charlie the Top Secret Spy Dog have been working very hard to get a new programme ready for 2020! Watch this space for updates!

03.01.2022 Agent FYI and Charlie have been busy over the holidays creating a brand new program for kids from Reception through to Year 3! It's called Cheer Up Charlie and it's all about teaching resilience. Agent FYI teaches Charlie that it's important to give everything a go and not to be put off by the fear of failure and that it is actually ok to fail. With the help of Agent FYI and the kids, Charlie learns some useful tactics and everyone learns the importance of supporting each other. A brand new character, Harry Trotter, makes an appearance for the very first time in the Top Secret Headquarters that Charlie simply can't resist!

03.01.2022 Agent FYI and Charlie are super excited to be back in the swing of school visits. Theyre both following current social distancing guidelines, wiping down equipment between sessions and using hand sanitiser!

02.01.2022 So can I use this as part of my program on bullying?

02.01.2022 What a super term that was! Charlie and Richard were mighty busy getting out and about and capturing the attention of kids all across Adelaide with Power Games. The program offers an insight into the dangers of anonymity and cyber bullying. With kids younger than ever entering the world of Snapchat and Instagram this program, delivered in a safe environment, allows them to discover how ill-conceived and flippant comments can impact on the lives of real people. This program is a must see for grades 5, 6 and 7 students entering the online world.

01.01.2022 I know, I'm posting again! This is just too important not to share though. Parents and teachers should take heed.

01.01.2022 Just found this online and thought that it would be useful for teachers who want to talk to their students about being safe with social media apps. I think that it is pretty relevant and worth a look.
