19.01.2022 Let me start by introducing a very strong, Amazing and inspirational little girl. Her name is Jazmyn and her and her family have been through an enormous emotional life changing journey. Little Jazmyn has fought the fight against high risk B cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia!! Diagnosed 10th of February 2016 at only 3 years old, it has been a long road for her and her family. Jazmyn had her last treatment on the 28th May 2018!! 10.01.2022 Infants require someone to hold their needs in order to begin trusting their own needs. Caregiver regulation eventually leads to shared-regulation which eventua...lly leads to self-regulation. It's a journey. Self-regulation is a developmental process that requires time. By the way, the goal isn't "perfect attunement" to the needs of the infant, but intentional attunement (good enough caregiving). Infants and young children are aware of our intention to meet their needs because we're doing our best to meet them. This includes our need to care for ourselves so that we can care for them.
