For example, a QBCC licensed plumbing and drainage contractor could install, maintain or repair a fire collar in a building, as it forms part of the plumbing and drainage system. However, the same person could not certify the installation of the system unless they had a fire certifier passive (penetration and joint sealing) licence. The passive fire licence is conditioned and only permits work associated with specified passive fire equipment.
