24.01.2022 As we welcome a new year, were proud to open three new purpose-built centres so that we can continue supporting families with access to quality early childhood education and care. The Learning Sanctuary Morningside in Brisbane, Greenwood Mulgrave in Melbourne and Central Park Duo in Sydney all opened their doors this week in time for the start of the educational year. The families enrolled at these centres are among thousands joining the G8 family this year from Nursery through to our government-approved Kindergarten and Preschool programs. Welcome!

16.01.2022 COVID-19 has left us all missing face-to-face contact with the older members of our families and communities, but the team at one of our centres found the perfect way to stay connected. A huge shout-out to the team at Bambinos Kindergarten Harrington Park North in Sydney, who made the news for their efforts in making 100-year-old Eileen feel special on her birthday. By pulling together a scrapbook of drawings, paintings and photos, along with a gift pack of Eileen’s favourite things, they showed us all how the smallest gesture has the ability to make a world of difference in someone’s life

16.01.2022 G8 Education has launched a Bushfire Relief Package so that even the littlest Australians can do their bit to support those devastated by the fire crisis. From lemonade stands and fundraiser barbecues through to stitching joey pouches for young orphaned animals, children and educators from across our national network of centres are busy fundraising. And to bolster their efforts, were proud to announce that we will match their donations dollar for dollar! The measures includ...e: Direct support for team members and families who have been severely impacted by the fires. Six weeks free access to any of our centres for the children of those registered volunteer firefighters or Australian Defence Force Reserve members fighting fires and in need of assistance. Bolstering the amazing fundraising efforts of our 476 early education and care centres by matching donations dollar for dollar with proceeds raised pledged to the #RedCrossBushfire Appeal on behalf of our families and team members. Counselling support for team members and their families directly impacted by the bushfires.

14.01.2022 UPDATE: Free child care for all our enrolled families, effective Monday 6 April Families can now keep their bookings in place for free, even if your child is temporarily not currently attending your centre. This allows parents to hold their childs place until the family is ready to re-commence care. This applies to all enrolled families, regardless if they are eligible for the child care subsidy (CCS) or not. We understand that early education services are vital for so man...y parents. As mentioned by the Prime Minister, children also need familiarity and continuity in this unsettling time. This relief package will help the sector and its employees make it to the other side of the crisis, ensuring that your childs educators are looked after. Previous or existing families that would like to re-instate their bookings or increase their days, please contact your Centre Manager. 11.01.2022 Were all in this together As we head into a long weekend like no other, we wanted to share some positivity and happiness with you all, directly from our centres - who have been doing everything in their power to keep their children safe, families supported and communities feeling the love. This includes everything from participating in the #rainbowtrail movement and putting bears out for children to enjoy #bearhunts; holding daily Zoom meetings for children who are stay...ing at home; baking treats for families to enjoy; starting community pantries for busy families to take necessary food and supplies home with them; and reaching out to the stores and aged care facilities in their local communities with artworks and books created by the children. A huge thank you goes out to our tireless educators who continue to provide essential care for children, while coming up with these incredibly creative ideas to share what matters most in these unprecedented times - love, kindness and positivity! This year’s theme is better health for men and boys, highlighting great role models and raising awareness of wellbeing. We are so proud to have the opportunity to lead by example in our centres, inspiring the next generation of men, and creating a fair society that allows the children in our care to prosper. 10.01.2022 Great news for Brisbane families - The Learning Sanctuary Mary Street is now open! The purpose-built centre located in the heart of the CBD is setting the standard for learning environments in centres across our national network. The centre boasts less furniture and fewer toys in preference for open-ended play materials that will enhance the early educational opportunities for the youngsters in attendance. Designed by Dr Melinda Miller one of Australias leading authorities in early childhood education, the rationale behind the room layouts is in line with the learning through play philosophy that is at the heart of all of G8 Educations 476 centres.

05.01.2022 Our news feeds this week have been flooded with powerful imagery and content from the US, reminding us what is equally important here in Australia: developing a balanced, diverse view of the world, and how it is experienced by different groups of people. We begin early with racial literacy at our centres, embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in our curriculum year-round. We also include representations of Indigenous cultural practices through various r...esources, including books, puzzles, music, imagery, textiles and dolls. This week, our centres have also been partaking in National Reconciliation Week - a time for non-Indigenous and Indigenous peoples to come together to build and to celebrate the respectful relationships they share. Children have been learning about ceremonies and artefacts, listening to indigenous music, learning some Aboriginal language and symbols, exploring the work of Aboriginal artists and their techniques, using natural materials to create artworks, going on reconciliation walks and hearing stories by Aboriginal authors. Some centres have also been teaching little ones about the ongoing process of reconciliation, including the history of the Stolen Generations and Kevin Rudds landmark Sorry Day speech, paying homage to the past while recognising the present. Thank you to all our educators who continue to enrich the learning experiences of children.. Providing culturally relevant curriculum experiences and connecting with local Elders and community members supports understanding about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures within our education and care services. 05.01.2022 The current bushfire crisis has led to multiple discussions with children within our centres about safety and preparation. Recently, one of our affected G8 centres, Community Kids Bargo made headlines in the well-known Daily Telegraph, for showing their bravery and calm thinking in the event of their evacuation. We couldnt be more proud of our team and the children within the centre, and all our centres that have activated several initiatives to support communities in bushfi...re-ravaged areas. We stand by our people and families and want to continue to support the relief effort by providing free education and care to children of volunteer firefighters and Australian Defence Reserve members, along with offering on-going counselling and financial support for team members and families impacted by the fire crisis. Whether you utilise ParentTV for enhancing practice, connecting further with families or for support as a parent, it is an amazing resource for our network. ParentTV was made available to all G8 Education team members in July and launched to families last week.

Both centres feature beautiful outdoor yards, new learning resources, art studios, library spaces, STEM rooms and so much more.
