22.01.2022 The next P&C meeting will be held on Wed 3 June at 7pm. Due to the current social distancing restrictions we will be hosting a virtual meeting (using zoom technology). For anyone wanting to join the meeting, please send us a message and we can send you the link to access the meeting on the night. This is a great time to join a meeting from the comfort of your own home (tim tams and jim jams are fine - no judgement) ... 22.01.2022 Reminder for all families. The next 2 Fridays are free dress days for the kids. This Friday (11 September) is run by the Student Council and requires a gold coin donation, with funds going to help the homeless. Next Friday (last day of term) is a free dress day to coincide with the fun run! No money donation required. ... 2 weeks till the end of term 3! We got this ;)

The position will be potentially one afternoon per week from 2.30 pm until 5.30 pm, additional hours may be offered depending on daily bookings. 19.01.2022 The P&C will be hosting a mango drive in Term 4 (end of the year)!!! Trays will be $25 each. Closing date for orders will be Wednesday 28 October. ... Delivery - to be confirmed, likely to be around (9-12 December). We would appreciate you supporting the school if you can. When you receive your order form can you please share with as many family and friends as you can - the more orders we receive the more money the school makes!!!

17.01.2022 Hi everyone, as we prepare for all students to be back at school on Monday 25 May, please follow the advice from the school (see below): In line with the latest information from the Queensland Health Officer the following arrangements for school drop off and pick up will be in place.... School Drop Off All Parents must observe physical distancing measures by not congregating in areas inside or around the school. Parents are required to drop children off at the Stenner Street school entrances and instruct their child to move to the following areas where students will be supervised: Between 8.15am 8.30am Senior Under Cover area After 8.30am o Prep and Year 1 School Hall o Year 2,3,4 Tuckshop Undercover Area o Year 5 and 6 Senior Under Cover Area Class Teachers will collect students from these areas by 8.45am. Students who arrive after 8.50 am must report to the Office with the supervising adult. If you believe, your child needs support getting to the designated areas before school please contact the office to discuss your concern. Parents can drop students off at the office if required. School Pick Up o Prep and Year 1 Class teachers will walk students to the School Hall o Year 2 and 3 Class Teachers will walk students to the area on the western side of the Hall to meet Parents at the Stenner Street gate. o Year 4 -6 students to exit the school via Stenner Street to meet parents. o Students with siblings can meet together and walk to Stenner street entrances to meet parents. Please note that all other gates in to the school will be closed for safety and to ensure we comply with the Health Directives.

14.01.2022 Wishing everyone a great day back at school tomorrow. Thank you to all the parents/carers for all your hard work in homeschooling. Our children will remember this time forever. Another huge thank you to the teachers/staff at Gabbinbar for the hard work they constantly do especially for going above and beyond for our children in the last few months to help them get through this unprecedented time. With the recent update from the Qld Government that all schools will be student free from next week (except for students of essential workers) OSHC will advise families tomorrow (Friday) regarding arrangements for next week and vacation care. Thank you all stay safe everyone!

Next month (Wed 2 December) we will be going out for dinner and drinks. Everyone is welcome to attend both events. ... 10.01.2022 The 2nd hand uniform sale will continue again this afternoon from 2.30-3.15pm. It will be a gold coin donation per item - cash only. We will be located between the library and the school hall. Parents are allowed in this section but please remember social distancing. Please come and support the P&C. We have a number of polo shirts, jumpers and shorts in all sizes. We need to get rid of these items as we don't have a place to store them.... Some of you may know Kylene as a past mum at Gabbinbar and also volunteering countless hours in the tuckshop over the years. We are in the process of ordering stock and completing induction etc. Our aim is to have the tuckshop open by Wed 4 March! (we will confirm via this page and school newsletter) ... The tuckshop definitely need volunteers to get things underway. Also the kids love to see their parents at the school!
