23.01.2022 As a lead up to NAIDOC week our Yarning Circle are holding an Aboriginal Art expo July 2nd and 3rd. Art work from Aboriginal artists in Whyalla can showcase their work. Thursday and Friday schools will be invited to attend ... inline with Covid guidelines. Thursday night (community are invited) to an information evening where you can talk the artist and purchase their artwork. Spread the word ... 20.01.2022 Today our staff team was fortunate enough to participate in an Aboriginal Art Workshop facilitated by Laurresha Art Champion. Laurresha talked to us about how w...e can use art as therapy in are everyday lives, taught us about Aboriginal symbols and how art pieces tell a story and gave us the confidence to paint our own special piece. This workshop was great for our mind, our body and our soul and I strongly recommend booking in for one of the sessions. If you are an educator in a school, preschool or child care the hours can count to your Professional Learning Hours and I guarantee you will leave the session a lot wiser about how you can incorporate Aboriginal Perspectives and Learning into your curriculum.
