25.01.2022 Some very exciting news this morning...the extension to the dam behind the 7th green is underway This should provide the club enough water to be fully self sufficient.
25.01.2022 End of day 3 of the construction of the enlargement of the dam behind the 7th green. The hole is complete, just now need to shape the banks and knock down the middle wall.
24.01.2022 A great putting drill. I actually used this drill yesterday in a lesson. Give it a go, you will be amazed how good you can putt with only one hand.
24.01.2022 There’s been no better time to head out to Gailes Golf Club for a round of golf! The course is in amazing condition and the warm weather makes for a day out that’s too good to miss. Call the Pro Shop on 3271 1045 to book your round.
24.01.2022 A good work (practice) ethic is needed in order to achieve your golfing goals. Simply hoping or turning up on the day does not work. If you really want to improve your game, you not only need to practice but also receive regular lessons to keep you on the right path. Come in and see one of our Certified PGA Professionals to help you along your journey to better golf. At Gailes lessons are available everyday of the week.
24.01.2022 A huge congratulations to our 2nd year trainee Warren Austin who today shot a 36 hole score around Victoria Park of 3 under par. What is more impressive is Warren needed to shoot 1 under par or better in order to pass his playing average for the year. It was also the last trainee event for the year. Nothing like leaving it to the last minute Warren. Warren now has completed his playing requirement with the PGA Traineeship and now just has one more year of assignments/exams to go before he is accepted as a PGA Professional. Once again, congratulations and I'm sure you will enjoy that rum tonight.
23.01.2022 A big congratulations to Gailes member Harry Ellis on getting his third hole in one in the last twelve months. It took him 30 years to get his first and now he has had three within a year. Great job Harry, the drinks are on you.
23.01.2022 Don’t drive by Gailes, take the time, make the time to play around. You won’t be disappointed, the course is in sensational condition and the reopening of the 3rd hole is this Saturday. To secure your tee time, phone the pro shop on 32711045.
22.01.2022 A very impressive round of 8 under par off of the stick was recorded by Sam Slater in the Dingo Hill Classic yesterday. Being both good enough to take out both the gross and net prizes for the day! The net runner up went to local member Etu Tusitala with a score of net 68 (-4) and another local member George Wishart took out third prize with a net 71 (-1). Thank you to all of those who participated in this months Dingo Hill Classic. Next months Dingo will take place on the 13th of November, so be sure not to miss out!
21.01.2022 More work being done on the 3rd hole today. The volunteers and greenkeepers working together to shape the sand and level out the flight area.

Third place was taken out by Teddy Ah Ben and Greg Sellick who finished just one shot further back with a score of 60.5. With over 80 teams participating the competition was fierce. Thanks to all of those who attended and well done to all of the winners.
19.01.2022 Last Friday saw once again another extremely successful State of Origin Golf Day held at the club. These golf days don’t go ahead without some very special people and sponsors. The Gailes Golf Club would like to thank the following for their sponsorship. Tony Holland’s Funeral, Schweppes, Bentley’s Camera House,Sherpa, The Lion-Richlands,Anthony Moore Mechanical and Origin great Mick Hancock for donating a signed Maroons Jersey. A special thanks to all teams that played on th...e day as without your support the day would not be as successful as it was. Thanks must go to committee member Murray Dawson for driving the drinks cart and keeping everyone hydrated for the day. A big shout out to Gailes member Mark Braybrook for MC the day as well. Winners on the day were Soverign Sheds with Dara Joinery in second place and the team of Mark Braybrook, Ben Ikin(Fox Sports Commentator/Origin Legend),Jed Morgan(Aussie Amateur Champion) and Ian Healy(Cricket Legend) coming in 3rd place. Tony Hollands Funerals finishing in 4th place. To the staff at the club, your efforts on the day didn’t go unnoticed. Your efforts went over and beyond your normal duties. See more
19.01.2022 They were at it again today. 11 volunteers turned up this morning to help us top dress and level the three, '3rd tee blocks' in readiness for when the resurface...d green reopens in January. A great job guys made even more remarkable as Ray took to his knees to level the tee block personally!!! See more
19.01.2022 New water feature at Gailes. At least the newly constructed dam will benefit from this downpour.
19.01.2022 With the warmer weather upon us,it’s vitality important to keep hydrated. Sometimes water isn’t enough. Try the range of G Active Gatorades with No Sugar next time you’re out at the club.
18.01.2022 Spider X putter is currently the hottest putter on the market at the moment. At only $349,a saving of $150,these putters are flying out the door.
18.01.2022 Nice work by the greens staff to get the 3rd green resurfaced and planted within 7 days

18.01.2022 Looking great as the resurfacing continues to take shape..
17.01.2022 The Dingo Hill results are as follows Blair Nunn had a great round, taking out the Dingo Hill with a score of 65 net. Followed by Blaike Perkins, who had net 67 off of a handicap of +2. This score was also good enough to take out the best gross. Third place went to Caleb Marschke who also had a great round of 68 net.
17.01.2022 It would be fair to say not the result Justin was after, finishing 3rd, however he is gaining more and more experience in tournaments. Well done. Onto the next one.
15.01.2022 The third green taking in some water, keeping the stolons healthy as they start to take root on this gorgeous Friday morning out at Gailes.
15.01.2022 Wishing the Gailes Golf Club team all the best in the VW State Championship finals this week. https://www.facebook.com/VolkswagenScramble/videos/320327632780820/
15.01.2022 The day started with our friendly Bagpiper, Tyson Rech who came in early to perform a number of tunes and repeated the performance later in the morning. It ended early unfortunately due to the stormy weather in SEQ. Course still looks great and drained well as always after the storms had passed but play had to cease due to the dangerous conditions. The newly extended dam benefited from all that rainfall!!!
15.01.2022 The third green has been loving the rain that we have had recently at Gailes Golf Club. Day by day the coverage gets better as we start to get closer to the completion of the resurfacing.
14.01.2022 The Mizuno Fitting day is taking place on the 3rd of December at Gailes Golf Club. Call the pro shop on 3271 1045 to book in your free fitting session.
14.01.2022 An early start and a big morning today as we commenced the rebuild on the 3rd tee box. Only part way there with more block work and gardens to build, but a great effort by the volunteers never the less.
13.01.2022 A good performance by Lincoln Morgan today saw him finish in 5th spot only 4 strokes behind the winner in the 16-17 age group of the Gary Player Classic. In his own words a disappointing finish however gaining valuable experience was Justin McCormack competing in the 15 and unders. Well played to both.
12.01.2022 There are still some spots available at our Mizuno Fitting Day. Phone the pro shop on 32711045 if you’re interested. Two PGA Professionals will be on hand to answer any of your questions.
12.01.2022 Just thought we would share a comment made on our Face Book page by a mum who brings her kids out to Brent's home school class on a Friday afternoon. It's great to see positive feedback about our staff.

09.01.2022 Great day at the Regional(State) Final of the Volkswagen Scramble held at Lakeland’s Golf Club today. Unfortunately our Head Professional Brent Barlow couldn’t repeat last years performance of winning, however 3rd place is a great effort. Shooting a very impressive 15 birdies and 3 pars, resulting in a nett score of 52.6 just wasn’t good enough on the day. Gailes Golf Club qualified 2 teams into today’s regional final with Assistant Professional Bronson La'Cassie and his team finishing in 11th. A tough school with the winners shooting nett 48.4

The team headed by Head Professional Brent Barlow will now represent Gailes in The National Final at Twin Waters (sometime in May next year) all depending on Covid outcomes going forward. 08.01.2022 A great start for Gailes member Justin McCormack leading the way heading into the final round of the Australian Junior Age Division (15-16) Golf Championships held at RACV Royal Pines, Gold Coast. Due to the extreme wet weather, Gold Coast receiving 138 mls yesterday, yesterday’s round was abandoned. Making the tournament a 36 hole event. Good luck and go get em tomorrow Justin, finish off strong.
08.01.2022 An unlucky spot to end up! One of our members Richard Holden encountered this interesting lie on the fifteenth hole in the seniors and veterans championships the other week. Providing quite a laugh to his playing partners, Richard had to take a penalty drop.. Probably the smartest play considering you wouldn’t practice a shot like this very often!
08.01.2022 Some more great work by the volunteers this week with the added assistance of James Hoare who brought his expertise along to make it all happen at the 15th tee.
06.01.2022 Today we saw the Final of The Western Gailes Trophy played between John Toner and Club President Paul Brown. A relationship with Western Gailes Golf Club in Scotland arising from our clubs names was cemented with an exchange of perpetual trophies to be contested by the members of the respective clubs. This prestigious event has been contested at Gailes since 1937. In a very tight affair all day it was Paul Brown who came away with the Trophy, winning 2 up. Congratulations to both players.
05.01.2022 Some more great work this morning from our volunteers working with Stewart as we cleaned up the existing drainage in the bunkers on the 3rd hole. Clay had all but covered some of the areas over time. This was cleaned away to ensure much improved bunker drainage for the newly resurfaced green.
04.01.2022 An outstanding effort today for Gailes young gun Justin McCormack firing a superb round of 4 under par, his first bogey free round, at Windaroo GC to claim the Windaroo Junior Bowl. Sky’s the limit, keep the dream alive.
