18.01.2022 Well, last nights rant stirred everyone up! Obviously happening in so many regional areas and I had a customer in today saying that her financial advisor told her Ballarat was the place to buy an investment property!Grrrrrrrr! I was hoping to put up some gorgeous new images but the light disappeared early due to storm so will do tomorrow so until then a couple of new pictures of my roses I have been playing with on new device!

13.01.2022 We are underway in sale and took some pictures late today of the store looking sparkly! Everything you see in the pictures is 20% off unless it’s MINE ! I tend to NEED to keep a certain few favourites from Christmases past as I tend to be on the HORDER side of things, I will never be a minimalist! Lots of lovely people coming through to say Hi and grab a bargain or the customer that has no idea it’s all on sale and is so thrilled when told their total has 20% off! It is a kind of secret sale!

10.01.2022 A bit of a departure from floral fabric with one for the kids who love dinosaurs! The colours are glorious and is continuous yardage, not a panel, 44 wide and a digital at $28mt. Hoffman fabrics just keep getting better and I love that they do not follow trends, just do whatever takes their fancy, the way I like to buy!!! Back to work tomorrow with a group of Quilters visiting after lockdown to enjoy their freedom!

08.01.2022 And more! They are doing amazing panels these days, we just need more time in the day to use them all! Remember, some only one left so quick on the button!

06.01.2022 It’s looking like we are going to be back on Thursday, just as well as I have a sore neck from de-cobwebbing the 27foot ceilings, hands that feel like sandpaper from being in soapy water and I nearly choked on a fluffball, not a furball! Dangerous, this cleaning lurk! Shop smells so nice though, rose polish on all wood surfaces is very rewarding. Another stunning backing has come back into stock and also as a 44 wide as well. Backing is 108 wide digital and is $44mt and 44 wide is $28mt. I can just gaze upon it for ages as it is so beautiful!

06.01.2022 Phew it was hot today! Lots of visitors remarking on how hot Ballarat is but they had been told it was always COLD! When I was a child we did have winters that had ice on puddles everyday and the only time we were outside was when we walked to school but those days have gone long ago. The world has shifted, it can be raining a block away but we are dry, we suffer raging winds when it was Windy Warrnambool that had that reputation, our rainfall is lower than its ever been and ...yet, our council keeps ticking the approvals of developers building estates with 200 houses, that of course, they have to have a lake in each estate! It beggars belief that money comes first before infrastructure to handle the extra POOH, extra water needed to fill these mini water features, extra schools and the list goes on! Why do people move to regional areas then want the same things they left behind to find a better lifestyle! I guess the council rates are needed to pay the huge wage bill for CEO’s on as much, if not more, than our Prime Minister, the many tiers of upper management to all have gold cards and flower bills of $17,000. All this has been happening here in Ballarat and you all tell me your councils are no better, where do we find these people, where are the honest ones! And after getting that off my chest something scrummy to look at! A stunning wide quilt back 108 wide, that’s nearly 3 times the width of normal fabric, digital with gorgeous humming birds fluttering all over. Just new as a backing and $44mt and quality is the best! See more

04.01.2022 And some great Christmas panels and does anyone else have trouble getting into the Christmas groove! I think I have to take a visit to the pine plantation and smell the pines then maybe it will hit me! I remember as a young child standing watch as my father cut a tree from the side of the road and bundled it into the boot of the car! It was my job to YELL if a car was coming so we could all look like we were collecting pine cones for the fire, not illegally finding a Christmas tree! I was all of about five years old, talk about teaching a child into a life of crime!!

04.01.2022 I Know! You will be all sick of SALES, SALES!!! But it is our 41st Sale and starts on the 1st December through to the 31st December with 20% discount off EVERYTHING in store. 03.01.2022 I hope everyone had a great Christmas Day and look forward to a wonderful New Year! I have enjoyed 4 whole days off, spending time in Winslow near Warrnambool with all the family for a fab lunch cooked by my son taking along my mother who is 87 which made four generations there on the day! The other days I have pottered in the garden, tidied up the studio and attacked the mound of paperwork that is never ending! Just a reminder that there is still 3 days of 20% off everything SALE to go but you just get me in store as Melissa and Colleen are having two weeks to rest and recuperate so be kind to me if you are in! Also to my customers in Sydney and New South Wales we are thinking of you and please take care! Yours Gail

02.01.2022 Here we go again!!! I sincerely hope you are all safe and tucked up in your sewing rooms as I am on the couch watching my favourite show on the ABC, Call The Midwife! It’s addictive and I have watched every series since it started some years ago, almost feels like my second family!! I am still working, just no staff like last time, always so much to do stocking shelves, CLEANING, decorating, website and the list goes on! With a bit of luck it will be just for this short spell..., piece of cake girls! New Aussie panel for you, I think this is my favourite as my preferred art medium when I was at school was working with charcoal and these drawings are just gorgeous. Full panel is 54 x 54, 55%Linen / 45%Cotton and each of the nine stunning images is 17x 17. Price is $44 for full panel. I have also included a stunning wreath of Australian flowers that just looks like it has been hand painted on the same Linen/Cotton blend from the same company. Measures 13 and is presented on a strip of three for $15, amazing value. Could be embroidered, quilted, cushions, bags and quilts. Well my show has finished so time for tea, I am a late eater!!!
