In the current global environment we want to offer as much assistance as we can. We are currently investigating potential avenues to offer services to those that need while obeying the social distancing rules.... Until the safety, logistics and legalities are determined we cannot currently offer assessment or intervention services, but we are here and willing to help in anyway we can. If you are home with your kids and have a question about any of the following areas, even if you have never seen an OT before, we will endeavour to help you find the answer. If we don't know we will do our best to find out. -personal care activities (feeding, dressing, toileting) -play skills (movement, balance, confidence) -gross motor skills (running, jumping, catching) -fine motor skills (scissors, cutlery, shoelaces) -handwriting (pencil grip, legibility, endurance) -sensory processing (attention, sensitivity to light/sound/touch) -muscular soreness -health and safety -wellbeing We are all in this together

Social distancing and the increase in remote working has made the ability to maintain these connections appear almost impossible. Gain has checked out some virtual connection apps to help you maintain or reestablish that connection with your workers, family and friends. 14.01.2022 ||Your Chair, Your Throne|| We are told from school to sit up straight but research actually shows that the preferred back rest angle is between 110-110 degrees, not the 90 degree angle you often see in pictures. In this slightly reclined position the chair starts to work for you creating significant decreases in postural muscle activation and intervertebral disc pressure in the lumbar spine. Does ergonomics hurt your head (or back)? Contact us on 6369 1277 or [email protected] to take the pain out of it and arrange ergonomic assessments or education for you and your staff.

Messy or sensory play has so many benefits including building body awareness, fine motor skills, hand strength, dexterity and hand eye coordination. All while encouraging a tactile experience. If you struggle with the thought of a messy house, make it work for your family. ... -Go outside or somewhere where you can easily clean up. -Have a box of 'messy play' clothes. -Make it functional! Try gardening or cooking together. You never know they might just surprise you with a hidden talent!
