23.01.2022 A bit of stainless tig work on Friday goes down well. Our Tig brush still doing the job on these 30 brackets for one of our favourite customers. We were also able to machine the parts in house thanks to our new/old lathe we picked up a couple of weeks ago. #tigweldingstainlesssteel #tiglife #welding #tigbrush #australianmade
19.01.2022 So here it is, all finished and ready to be powder coated. What a cool project this has been, from measure to design and then fabrication. We haven’t built a set of stairs this solid before. Definitely a one of a kind. The final chapter will be craning it into position, I’ll be sure to post a photo when that happens. #custommade #customdesign #supportsmallbusiness #welding #australianmade
18.01.2022 Well check these cool beams out ! Structural aluminium is something we only get to work on occasionally. As you can see, these two are bolted together. This is to reduce any warping or deformation caused by welding cleats to only one side of each beam. Keep your eyes out for what’s next in store next ! We have another two beams with a far more complex construction. #alumunium #welding #custom #fabrication ##australianmade
15.01.2022 So here they are, it’s hard to get perspective on these things ( see photo with rule in it ) serious structural aluminium beams. It’s been nice to have some heavy duty ally work back in the workshop for the first time in a couple of months. I’ll be sure to put a photo of the beams up when installed after being powder coated.#custom #aluminiumwelding #fabrication #welding #australianarchitecture #australianmade #supportsmallbusiness
10.01.2022 Here is Dylan, Dom and myself down the coast helping out a new client. We were called in to fix up some welds at a brand new facility. Fortunately we we able to grind out the original attempt and re-weld the problem welds in the 3G & 4G positions with MMAW on the day. True AS 1554.1 SP welds are easier said then done. Please feel free to contact us with any questions in regard to AS/NZS compliant welding solutions to either structural or pressure welding applications we will be happy to help. Our clients engineer and inspector was pleased to be able to sign off on this little project this week.
10.01.2022 Check out what the boys have been up to down in our workshop! Really looking forward to seeing these beams installed after being powder coated @combinedcoatings
09.01.2022 Here’s two 10mm ally pods we have now finished, welded inside and out. I’ve got some photos of these being tacked up in an earlier post. This has been a real one of a kind fabrication job. Hopefully I’ll get a photo when they’re painted and installed
09.01.2022 Our new baby, well far from new but new to us. It’s hard to pick up an Australian made lathe now days. This old girl is a beast, I spent part of my younger years around and on lathes. To have our own top quality machine now sits nicely with me, stay tuned for some in house machined parts
03.01.2022 The weirder the better in our workshop
02.01.2022 Here’s the beginnings of two pods we’re building in our shop for a commercial vessel on Lake Maquarie. Full custom design and engineering, cut out with a CNC router. These are 10mm 5083 Aluminium being welded out with our Lorch Micor pulse mig. Stay tuned for the finished product.
