18.01.2022 It’s time to say ‘hello’ 2021 and to you all!! Ah yes, let’s kick 2020 to the kerb, shall we? Although, having said that, it was a really satisfying year for me and the (not-so) little blokes - we spent ALOT of time together in Lockdown here in Melbourne and I was able to juggle poster playing around them. It could ‘practice’ the business model I’ve worked hard to set up over the past 7 years (since moving and rebranding) and it worked pretty well, so I’m sticking with it. S...incere thanks for your patience, you really are the best Insta-crew ever in the world of Insta-Crews. So, what does all this preamble mean for this year mean?? I hear you ask! It means, I will show by appointment only, with an open day the LAST Saturday of every month from 10-4pm...for those who simply want to wander in and see what the fuss is about. I am working on FaceTime or remote showings and also love curating collections for people, so if you live elsewhere, it’s no drama - I can help out. To my newest followers a special hello!! You are so welcome, this is the most immediate platform for showing what stock we have...as always the website is a tad behind. But not for long. I have so, so, so, so many posters! 13.01.2022 Hey Insta-Crew, I’ve got something to tell you all. Firstly, Saturday March 27th is Open Day from 10-4pm. I hope you’ll drop by! After that I will spend time tying up all the loose ends in order to take an extended break; April 1st - June 1st, to be precise! And when I say break, I mean to stop, turn off the phone, the website and emails, take proper time out. My boys and I have had an extraordinary decade, every major life event - the most beautiful and best to the ugliest, ...saddest, most challenging - has been thrown at us with a few extra unexpected things thrown in for good measure, and now the dust is settling slightly, we need to stop and catch our breath. Quite frankly, my exhaustion is affecting our home-life and my professionalism at work. I absolutely love The Galerie Fitzroy, and now have it in a position - via appointment, smaller showroom up off the street, monthly Open Days, one-woman show - that allows me certain freedoms but when you have a small business you can never switch off completely...this will be the first time in almost 20 years that constant hum in the back of my brain will come to a complete halt. I have been around enough to know that is where the magic lies, the creativity comes, the new ideas marinate - with my energy revived, my boys feeling settled, I’m almost scaring myself what the next decade will bring!! But I won’t truly know until I close those showroom doors and sit with myself awhile. So that’s what I’m doing. Trust me, I know how fortunate I am to be able to do this. I will be reaching out to every single person who has something that needs finalising over coming days...please reach out if there’s anything outstanding, reminders are welcome! 10.01.2022 Well, well, well, Melbourne...before you know it, Lockdown restrictions are loosening and we are out of our trackies, attempting to fit into pre-Covid clothes, (how’s that working for ya, Mum? one my kids asked me when he saw me in jeans...) emerging from our homes dazed but there’s no confusion, we’ve had months to think of what we need, where we’ll go, what we’ll do!! I’m still a tiny bit reluctant, proceeding with caution but I’m so bloody excited Coz The Galerie Fitzr...oy will be changing things up ALOT over the next twelve months, it starts with showing by appointment only from here on. The showroom is absolutely jam-packed with posters, I cannot stress enough just how much I have within these four walls, it’s wonderful. But it also means I cannot maintain the Covid safe rules and rather than chop and change as new announcements are made, I’ve decided - appointment only from here on in...that also gives me time to get things online, to deliver stock, to concentrate on curating collections, sorting my inventory, to put my energy into a few more poster projects that I’ve always wanted to do. Ah you wait, my friends Those of you who have met me know I LOVE this place, I love poster-art, I love showing off, I love people, I love Fitzroy - I have a head full of knowledge, a heart for small business, so don’t be shy - call, DM or email, book me in and know there are no obligations once you walk through these doors, other than wear a mask and sanitise those hands and check out my wares The diary is filling, I’ll talk your ears off, coz I’ve barely had an adult conversation in this space in 6 months, so my poster prattle will be off the charts! 09.01.2022 My friends over at @chrissiesamandbrowny brought my attention to the fact that the Mr Men books turned 50 yrs old a few weeks back - reminded me of this little gem, printed 1970’s to hang in bookstores...I remember going to my neighbour Jonathan S’s place for a ‘play’ and devouring them as a kid. Then a friend bought the sets for my oldest when he was born. Great memories - have an awesome week, people! OPEN Day, this Sat Feb 27th 10-4pm

09.01.2022 The BEST time today - Sat Jan 30th!! Ah yes, the whole Open Day idea is a good one, people took the opportunity to drop by, I met so many fantastic, lovely folk including delicious little twin baby boys belonging to long-time poster lovers...the most joyous surprise when they called in, leaving with a couple of posters to add to their collection too.
