12.01.2022 Electric fencing for animal exclusion is needed in all kinds of places, including smack bang in the middle of Western Australia, at Jundee Mine Site . This week, Territory Manager Chris Pitts flew out on site and spent the day with Abraham, who is the Senior Environmental Advisor. Chris was there to provide advice on improving the existing electric fence using our Gallagher Electric Fencing solutions .... The biggest improvement by far will be adding in the Gallagher WiFi Gateway and Ag Devices App into the electric fencing system - this will save Abe hours of time each week as normally he'd be personally checking the 35kms of fence line every few days . Now he'll be able to see information about fence performance, be alerted of fence faults and be able to turn the fence on and off - all from the palm of his hand. How awesome is that?! 11.01.2022 Get to know Jess - our Customer Service Representative for Riverina NSW, North Central Victoria and Western Victoria/SE South Australia. Who has influenced you most when it comes to how you approach your work? I’d say everyone I work with influences me every single day. I can be a fairly quiet person so I learn by observing how other people work. In our open-plan office at the Gallagher Customer Service Centre, my colleagues and I can easily collaborate and it is easy ...to pick up on good habits from others that way. If you could write a book about your life, what would the title be and why? I actually had to write a personal journal for my university degree I called it ‘Another day under the sun’ and that’s the title I would give a book about my life still today. Because we live life day by day. Some days the sun is out and shining and we’re having a good day, and others are not so bright but there’s always another sunny day around the corner. I’m also really interested in how weather has an effect on people’s moods throughout the year. Who would play you in a movie about your life? Helena Bonham Carter for sure because I’m a big Tim Burton fan. I grew up watching Tim Burton movies and I really like his different art style . If you could only eat one item for every meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? Roast or potato bake they are my absolute favourite to have at BBQs and gatherings. They are also a reminder of big family meals back at my parents’ house and having everyone around for gatherings. What trend do you hope makes a comeback? I don’t know if you’d call this a trend and it certainly wasn’t something I experienced growing up in the countryside because there’s no streetlights there. But more the notion of kids wanting to play outside until the streetlights come on instead of being indoors on computers and watching TV . 08.01.2022 There were 830 ewes in the mob and we tailed 16 lambs. We had to do something, otherwise we may as well walk away. Malcolm Healey is a fifth-generation farmer at Box Hill in Turondale, NSW. Along with wife Jodie and his parents Mike and Joy, they run nearly 7,000 superfine Merinos . But a jump in the pressure from wild dogs nearly forced them off the land.... After seeking advice and seeing different fencing options in action, the Healeys chose the 660mm Gallagher Westonfence Insulated Suspension Post Leaning Offset to attach to existing fencing. The family has now put up 20 kilometres, going around the entire breeding property. Two Gallagher M5800i Energizers power the fence; one on solar and one on mains . It’s wonderful; because we’ve got the fence in sections, we only have to check that section.
