25.01.2022 James Ainslie immortalises the Australian landscape through the hand and brush of a master artist. His work resonates with energy as he continues to sees the world from a fresh prespective. As an artist my paintings are often a direct result of a location. It is the colours, textures, light, smells, sounds and presence, in fact the essence of a place that inspires my images. I have always been eclectic in my sources of inspiration and the paintings often start as realistic interpretations and later develop into more abstract and conceptual statements as I immerse myself in the milieu of the initial inspiration.

23.01.2022 Two days ago I visited the studio of two of my favourite artist’s, Olga Garner-Morris and her very talented daughter Inese Owen. Inese’s style is strictly contemporary unlike the paintings of her famous mother. As you may all know Olga is primarily known for her traditional Australian landscapes but more and more of late for her magnificent abstracts. Please have a look at these new paintings; some shout, some whisper, but all show the masterful way with colour and form you get from experienced artists. Please give me a call if any are of interest 0440 521 588.

23.01.2022 In on Monday - Lisa Lee's new painting - 'Stalemate' one that every mother will relate to. In Lisa’s own words Living with a ‘tween’ guarantees a few power struggles, battles and game playing. It’s not about who’s winning. Moves are made, strategies tested and tactics observed. Certainly not black and white! So whilst I occasionally feel I am being vigorously dispossessed of my sceptre and sovereignty LOL; I also see it as a baton I am able to pass down. It symbolises goodw...ill and independence. Our children learn from us the good and the bad. We only hope that they grow to be fierce. Learn to openly voice their own opinions respectfully and never be a push over in life. The small heart painted on the young girl’s beanie symbolises kindness. For a strong will and powerful mind are far from virtuous, if not embellished with kindness and empathy. See more

23.01.2022 Judith Laws Judith Laws no-holds-barred approach to brilliant colour makes her painting style singular and extraordinary. She paints from her very soul and creates joyful and exciting paintings full of vitality and vigour. ‘Mudjimba Summer: Is her latest to come into the Gallery. In the artists own words:- Queensland in Summer. ... Choosing the colours of this hot tropical area was second nature to me. I have lived in various parts of Queensland all of my life and I revel in mixing the heat colours and the softer colours of the sunsets or early dawn. The tropical rains leave puddles and clear the air and bring much needed rain to our dry area’s. Our beaches play an important part in our lives and stretch across the canvas in glowing colours of yellows, gold, pinks and orange. I have loosely drawn leaves or flowers in the dark green foliage and the black lines symbolise tree trunks. The purple was a surprise colour with no particular meaning. See more

22.01.2022 Introducing Steve Thompson's Steampunk sculptures. Steve’s artworks are unique. They meld a fertile mind and fabulous sense of humour with practical capabilities and a drive to engage. They are intriguing for being contemporary and yet oddly historical and futuristic all at once, demanding the viewer to look again and again to fathom out each component. His clever designs with meteorites, has them suspended by the attraction from a magnet, so that stone appears to be floating in the air. Many sculptures seem to suggest that they should do something, but what they do is to feed our imaginations and lead us into our own ideas. This level of engagement makes them endlessly entertaining. In Steve’s words I do what I doto extract a smile or a laugh or a ‘wow’. When my art does that, as far as I’m concerned I’ve been successful.

20.01.2022 With strong colour, craftsmanship and design, Chris Pantano's works express a connection to the Australian landscape influenced by his life-long studies of philosophy, anthropology and spirituality. Born in Sydney in 1948 Chris has been a professional glass artist for more than 30 years. His first international exhibition was in Singapore in 1986 and he has since exhibited in France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, New Zealand, Japan and North America. In Australia, he is recogn...ized as one of Australia's leading collectable glass artists. He has built a global reputation as a master craftsman with a strong emphasis on colour, pattern and story. Chris' work is highly regarded by private and institutional collectors around the world. These include the permanent collection in Australia's Parliament House in Canberra; the Queensland Art Gallery; Northern Territory Art Galleries; The McGaugherty Glass Collection at Latrobe Regional Gallery, Victoria; the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne; Collection Ludwig in Hannover, Germany; and Koganezaki Glass Museum in Shizuoka, Japan. Chris retired some years ago and the following pieces he has just delivered to the gallery come from his private collection. A very rare opportunity to look and buy a piece by a master artist

20.01.2022 'Sea Dreams' by Raelean Hall. In Raelean's own words:- Cruising through beach tracks in search of perfect waves, I follow the surfers to pause and view the coastline. I’m captivated by the silhouette figures, tree lines, shapes and patterns familiar in this scene. There’s a buzz in the energy and movement of this vast watery playground, and there’s the continuous ebb and flow of time and tide where shifting sands, swells and casting shadows reveal the surfers in their elements, where the dappled morning light highlights the heat to come.

19.01.2022 'Oh Moon, Oh Moon That shines so bright In a blanket of stars I wait tonight. My lovers gaze... Caresses me A love that spans eternity'. 'Blanket of Stars'- Pastel Rayma Eveson

18.01.2022 In Vaughan’s own words: - ‘The sea is especially attractive to me and I strive to reflect this in my work. I capture dynamic movement frozen in time creating exciting and dramatic compositions. This love of nature and life is hopefully reflected in my artwork.’ Vaughan Robinson is a wonderful sculpture working in copper over the last 30 years. Copper is a soft, warm and a pliable metal that allows the artist to manipulate, beat and form shapes. Vaughan then creates multiple... colours from age-old recipes, solutions that react with the copper and speed up the aging process giving the final beautiful verdigris colour. The tonal patinas bring all the elements of the art piece to life. To date most of Vaughan’s sculptures in the gallery have been smaller works but yesterday we took delivery of this beautiful wall sculpture ‘ Feeding Terns ‘. Priced at $2,500. Great either indoors, outdoors, or on sunny walls. If you just want the fish section or the terns they can be bought separately at $ 1,250 each.

08.01.2022 I am always proud to be able to offer great paintings by some of Australia’s top artists for you to enjoy. Three powerful new arrivals from Mel Brigg. Mel’s paintings are seemingly simple yet highly skilled in application. Light is the core. Perspective, texture, structure and atmospheric colour combine to produce evocative, emotive and emphatic works. ... In Mel’s own words: ‘I enjoy sharing my thoughts through painting with those who expect a work to have some meaning, a connection, that moves them, be it in a positive or negative way. If some of my paintings create an emotional response, then I am content, but that I leave for the viewer to decide. Mel Brigg. Across several continents Mel's work is impressively held in significant embassy, government and corporate collections. See more

04.01.2022 A truly special painting just in from Olga Garner-Morris. I saw this one in Olga’s studio when it was being painted. She was creating it to hang in her bedroom but when it didn’t fit above her bed because of the bedhead she offered it to me and I grabbed at the opportunity to hang this stunning painting in the gallery. Its a scene from New Zealand. On the train to Greymouth Olga mentioned to the conductor. What magnificent scenery, I would love to be able to stop and sketch and take photo’s So they stopped the train Olga got off and they picked her up three hours later. Only in New Zealand!

04.01.2022 Pat Hall ‘s magnificent paintngs, all watercolours and each measuring 61 x 137 cm . They make a nice set or can be bought individually. ANTHURIUMS I, II & III now in bloom in the gallery. With their open, heart-shaped flowers and tropical disposition, its no wonder that anthurium have come to symbolize hospitality, happiness and abundance. The name ‘anthurium’ comes from Greek, meaning "tail flower." Exotic and compelling, with bold, typically red flowers and shiny, dark gr...een foliage, anthurium, like the hospitality they represent, are long-lasting and irresistibly beautiful. F.Y.I. It is one of the best houseplants to have in your home, because it tops NASA's air purifying plant's list. See more

04.01.2022 The Steampunk submarine - ' The Nymph', a most fantastic new sculpture from Steve Thompson. For those of you who are not familiar with the term 'Steam punk, this is one of the biggest cultural phenomena of the last decade, steampunk is now firmly established within the arts scene, enjoying mainstream respect at exhibitions and festivals all over the world. The steampunk aesthetic combines imagery from the industrial eramachine parts like cogs and rivets, clockwork, and labo...ratory equipmentwith Victorian art and design and futuristic concepts such as robotics. The result: ultra-modern throwbacks designed to delight the imagination, and living here on the coast is one of the leading artists of this genre, Steve Thompson. Many of his sculptures seem to suggest that they should do something, but what they do is to feed our imaginations and lead us into our own ideas. This level of engagement makes them endlessly entertaining. In Steve’s words I do what I doto extract a smile or a laugh or a ‘wow’. When my art does that, as far as I’m concerned I’ve been successful. See more

02.01.2022 You can always rely on Shirley Marais bringing in something special and unique. Today she arrived with - 'Kisses $1.00 ' her latest copper haired girl. - Someone is going to be very lucky to acquire this one. Don't you love her putting on makeup between kisses and get the stockings.

01.01.2022 Just in time to celebrate Summer two fantastic sculptures have just arrived from sculptor Mela Cooke. Little ‘Chatter’ is ready to enjoy the water and this little boy with his paper plane is ready to fly. Mela’s past life as a physiotherapist is apparent in her strikingly realistic style of sculpture, which pays particular attention to the physical form. Each figure is made from the laborious process of casting in bronze. There is a timelessness to this age-old technique but, in Mela’s hands, the final products are brought into the present day through strong lines, subtle gestures, and the portrayal of modern attitudes taken from the artist’s everyday experience.
