24.01.2022 Before and after of some Rover V8 aftermarket heads we are working on. The chamber really let these heads down, it shrouded the valve badly and really hampered low lift flow. The rework of the chamber netted as much as 35% improvement at low lifts. Combined with a new cam, increase in compression and E85 we are shooting for 500hp from this 5 litre Rover. #gallowayengines #triumph #tr7 #tr8 #mdracing #tarmacrally

22.01.2022 Little bit of Holden grey motor goodness to get you through the last hours of Friday. Latest batch of billet centre main caps finished, 2 sets sent out today another 5 sets left, they come with ARP studs, nuts and washers for all four main caps. Also finished up a grey blueprinted oil pump with adjustable pressure relief.

21.01.2022 Another big project finished ready for summer road trips. Aston Martin DB6 complete engine restoration including a few improvements for cooling and performance. Custom oversize sleeves to repair block corrosion and take capacity to 4.2 litres, all surfaces machined to bring the engine back to new condition. The work order on this engine was huge as this particular car was purchased from the Aston Martin museum and had done very little work over the past few decades. It will now see many more miles and be enjoyed by its owner. These are such an iconic car and we feel privileged to work on such unique and iconic engines.



20.01.2022 Ford 302 Windsor finished off this week. Very mild engine with a bit of old school bling going into an XP coupe. Customer has had the car stored away for 25 years and is just getting it back on the road.

19.01.2022 A Mercedes project recently completed, M100 OHC 6.3 V8. This project included a longer stroke crankshaft we manufactured to take the capacity to 7.1 litres, custom forged pistons to suit with thin modern rings, valve pockets for larger camshafts and smaller piston pins, with a H beam rod we managed to shave a massive 1kg from each rod piston combo!! We completed mild cylinder porting to improve street performance, setup of custom ground camshaft and all machining work. Custom adjustable camshaft gears were made in house to allow exact positioning on cams when assembled on the engine. Will make a great street engine in a German classic.

15.01.2022 After 42 years we thought it was time for a facelift, we just could not bring ourselves to paint over the old hand painted Galloway signage so swapped it out with some new sheets before the building is painted. Stay tuned exciting changes ahead......

14.01.2022 We do general machining too! Like grinding this 1927 Chrysler axle to suit a replacement bearing as the original was badly worn.

13.01.2022 Bentley 8 litre engine finish machined and returned to customer for final assembly. We reclaimed and re-poured all 9 main bearings and 6 Conrod bearings, bored and honed the blind cylinders, cut valve seats up through the bore as they dont have a removable cyl head, re-machined crankshaft including damaged flywheel taper, manufactured new bronze small end bushes, machined the block and sump for front and rear main seals, then finish machined all bearings for correct clearance and oil grooves including the thrust. These old Bentleys are a mammoth engine and a big job to get right. The sound of one coming down the road at full noise makes everything else seem ordinary. #bentley #8litre #gallowayengines

12.01.2022 Nothing quite like big block power, 440 Chrysler we finished this week, we fitted billet alloy main caps and faced them flat with sump rail to suit a steel girdle, CNC true decked the block and resized the bores with torque plate final hone. Nearly 500ci and a sniff of gas will wake this old Mopar up!

08.01.2022 1908 Maxwell machined recently, we converted original bronze main bearings to white metal and finish line bored, modifed model A Ford rods to work in horizontally opposed 2 cyl and white metaled to suit, finish machined all oil grooves, bored and honed blind barrels to suit custom cp pistons, make custom small end bushes. We love bringing these old engines back to life.

08.01.2022 Holden V8 finish machined, this copped the works as far as machining goes. Customer supplied 4 bolt main caps fitted and tunnel line bored and finish honed, rear seal converted to factory neo style, bronze lifter bore sleeves fitted and finish honed, bores CNC bored true to centre and torque plate honed, CNC true faced to zero deck height. Once assembled it will run in a historic group N car.

07.01.2022 LSX block machined recently, we machined every critical dimension on this block including the main tunnel, CNC true machining the decks and bores, CNC blueprint lifter bore positions and fit bronze sleeves with custom internal grooves to suit .904 diameter lifters, grooves in the face to suit stainless fire rings, oversize head stud machining. 04.01.2022 Looking for that original manifold for your restoration. We have a large stock of original Holden 308 and 253 manifolds. Various original casting numbers available. All will need weld repair and facing. Buy as is or we can repair it to look like brand new.

02.01.2022 Series one Land Rover ready for assembly. These are unique in they have over head inlet and side exhaust valves. This makes them challenging to fit sleeves but we got the job done and it finished up really nice.

01.01.2022 This is why we often remove the pressed in balls on crankshafts and fit threaded plugs. Rotational force causes carbon and small particles to accumulate behind the ball and unless it is removed the crank cant be cleaned properly. Dont risk your big dollar, big HP Japanese engine.
