22.01.2022 WEEK 2 DROP OFF YEARS 1-6 8.15am - School gates open. One parent is welcome to drop off their child/ren within the school grounds. On arrival, students should take their bag to the Stage Assembly area. Parents may remain in the Plaza Annexe area, ensuring appropriate physical distancing is adhered to. 8.45am -... 19.01.2022 Dear Parents - please be advised that as a result of the inclement weather this morning that children are to go directly to their learning hubs from 8.15am where play will be indoors. Please also ensure that everyone remains safe this morning during drop off by refraining from dropping children off at the main gate and or in no stopping/parking zones.

17.01.2022 Scholastic Book Club Dear Parents The best gift any parent can give a child is the love of books and the joy and benefits of independent reading for fun. Children who read at home, or are read to, have a head start on reading success in school. Our school is participating in Scholastic Book Club this year. Up to twice a term, during the school year, Club catalogues will be sent home with a different selection of books offered for all ages. You’ll find award-winning books and ...bestsellers, as well as old and new favourites. It is easy to order. The Book Club LOOP platform for parents allows you to pay by credit card. Your child’s order is submitted directly to school safe and sound and the books will be delivered to class. You can place your child’s order at scholastic.com.au/LOOP or using the LOOP app, which can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play. Owning your own books is something special and we hope that you will encourage your child to order books this year. Each order helps earn free books and teaching materials for our classrooms, however there is never any obligation to order. Book club orders will be sent out mid term, keep a look out for the reminders on Facebook!

17.01.2022 Galungara Public School, please note that there will be a limited number of Mother's Day gifts, $5 each gift, that will be available for purchase in the Main Plaza area from 8.15am Friday 7 May. First in best dressed as when they are gone, they are gone!

14.01.2022 Galungara Families, I know that that the beginning and end of school day is a busy time for both pedestrians and vehicles, which can be even more challenging when there is inclement weather. When picking up and dropping off you should always: Park legally - do not park in Bus Zones, No stopping zones or over "yellow" lines Avoid dangerous manoeuvres such as U-turns and three-point turns - drive around the block instead... Give way to pedestrians, particularly when entering or exiting driveways Avoid stopping in Kiss and drop zones for more than two minutes Remember, even if you have to walk further to the school gate, this is a good time to model positive road safety behaviour and physical activity for your children. I would like to thank the Galungara families who, while dealing with the inclement weather this morning, put the safety of others above getting wet, it was greatly appreciated.

13.01.2022 The Kiss and Drop Area for the school will be marked out in the shared car park for the school off Farmland Drive. This Kiss and Drop Area will be a No Parking Zone. The rules for all No Parking zones are that you may stop while loading or unloading passengers up to a maximum of two minutes and must remain within 3m of your vehicle. The Kiss and Drop arrangements are there so that everyone can pick up and drop off their children quickly and safely. For this to happen plea...se follow these rules: If you are the first car, please move to the front of the area to allow for the following cars to move in behind you. You are not allowed to park, leave your car and go into the school. You are required to remain in or within 3 metres of your vehicle You may stop to drop off or pick up for a maximum of 2 minutes in this zone. It doesn’t matter whether your engine is running or not. Your two minutes starts from when you pull in. In the morning please have children’s school bags in the car with them so they can get out quickly and safely. Give them a kiss before you leave home so that you are not holding up the No Parking area. Once they are out of the vehicle please drive away. Your child can walk into the gate by themselves. For the afternoon pick up please time your arrival - the bell rings at 2.45 pm and children need time to pack up, leave the classroom and safely exit the school grounds. Please do not arrive before 2.45pm and wait in this area. There are other places that you can park legally and wait. If you child is not ready for you when you get to the No Parking area then go around the block and try again. Do not hold up the other vehicles. There is no waiting in the No Parking zone. See more

07.01.2022 Dear Parents Thank you for your feedback over the past few weeks regarding concerns pertaining to the purchase and collection of uniforms from Back to Basics. As a result of communication between the school and supplier, I am pleased to announce that Cowan & Lewis Back to Basics, are extending to all Galungara families the option to shop in store at 52 Cox Ave Kingswood. This service is effective immediately and will complement online purchasing with the option for delive...ry to home or school still available. I have also been assured that Back to Basics are in the process of acquiring a premises in the Norwest area in the next few months and as soon as this is operational, all the families will be able to shop at their leisure in store all year round. I have been asked to assure you that Back to Basics are working to have orders picked, packed and delivered as quickly as possible. To assist in this process, parents are asked to ensure that the child’s name and year group/stage are written clearly on the online form requests. I would like to thank everyone once again for the patience and understanding that has been shown during this time.

07.01.2022 WEEK 2 DROP OFF KINDERGARTEN 8.15am - School Gates open. One Parent is welcome to walk their child/children to the Kindergarten classroom to place their bag on the class bag hook - LOOK FOR YOUR CHILD'S NAME. Students will then move to the school hall and Plaza Annexe Parents are welcome to remain in the Plaza Annexe area ensuring that physical distancing is adhered to. 8.45am - Music plays, students line up in the school hall, parents are to leave school grounds.... 9.15am - Main school Gates are closed. 02.01.2022 To support cycling to school, we have provided 56 bicycle parking spaces located on school grounds, which are accessible from the main entrance off Farmland Drive. Reminder: Children under the age of 16 are allowed to cycle on the footpath, which keeps them safer and more protected from road traffic.
