I’m sure we’ve all heard the words clean your lashes! from our lash techs over and over again, but why is cleaning our lashes so incredibly important? 1 word. RETENTION. If you’re someone who wears a lot of makeup, uses a lot skin products, sweats a lot or has oily skin, you’ll understand the importance of washing your face, and washing your lashes is JUST as important, if not more so. When sweat, oil, dirt, debris and residue builds up on the lashes, it creates a barrier around your natural lash. The next time you visit your lash tech and they try to apply a lash, the extension is going to slide straight off! Or even worse, it’ll stick temporarily but you’ll be finding your extensions in your bathroom sink the next day! At Gambella, every client receives a complimentary lash bath at the beginning of your appointment to ensure a clean canvas for lashing, but this is only effective if you are staying on top of your lash hygiene at home. 3 weeks worth of oil, makeup, dead skin cells and dirt isn’t going to be washed away in a single lash bath, which is why it’s SUPER important to be cleaning your lashes every single day.
