18.01.2022 Sweets, sweet everywhere. Embrace your iso waistline and treat-yo-self Here are some Amaretti that are to 2020 for 500 g Almond Meal... 300 g caster sugar 5 egg whites 30 ml (Splash) amaretto or vanilla essence Bowl of icing sugar (plus extra for dusting!) - Whisk your egg whites to soft peak and then add your amaretto or vanilla essence and mix. - Mix the almond meal and caster sugar together in a separate bowl until the sugar seems to disappear. - Next for your amaretti biscotti, pour the egg white mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients and mix through using a large spoon. - Once this has all started to bind, use your hands to combine everything even more and make sure that everything mixes really well together, still keeping it all inside the large bowl. Don’t try and make it into a ball, just squeeze down with your hands so it stays - Grab a large flat baking tray by spreading baking paper on top and pre-heat your oven to 180 Using a tea spoon, scoop up a heaped amount of mixture, roll it around using the palm of your hand, and make it into a ball. - Roll each amaretti ball around in icing sugar and then gently place it on the baking tray. - Line the balls up, making sure you don’t place them too close together. Once the tray is completely full, with enough space in between each one, flatten out your hand, and press down gently onto each ball making the surface flat. This will create some cracks and provide the perfect form for your amaretti biscotti! - Dust with one more sprinkle of icing sugar all over before placing them in the oven for approx. 15 minutes but check them after about 12 minutes #idontneedthiswaistline #isopants #gameslaboratory

14.01.2022 Content that your immediate threat is contained, or at least slowed should it wake, you look around the rest of the cavern. Progress is initially slow as your e...yes struggle to adjust but eventually you find a passage out leading further in. Just as you take a step towards it though, you feel the crunch of something under your feet. Crouching down to get a better look you see the long dead body of a soldier, badly damaged and slumped up against the wall. Thinking back to Mayor Claudia you recall her tell you of a group of Knights and Squires who ventured into this place as it first opened, one of whom was Claudia's brother Oliver. You have no way of knowing if this is his body, but you promised to put him to rest. Moving this body out of the cave would be difficult and potentially noisy as well looking at how much broken armour he's wearing. What do you do? 13.01.2022 Falling for Benny guys - Lets be beans!!
13.01.2022 You advance into the antechamber ahead, drawing both your rapier and a dagger from your sheaths. The only features of note are more wrecked furniture, a trickli...ng fountain to the East and an open archway to the west leading deeper into this place. Once the Imps see you more clearly, wide toothy grins spread across their faces. Before you can attack, each of their forms begins to shimmer and they all turn invisible. Glad to still have the dancing lights in the area, you look and listen carefully for signs of movement. Fortunately you get lucky and manage to see the fabric of a battered sofa catch on some invisible claws and take a lunge at the perpetrator with your Rapier. Even without fully seeing your target you manage to land a lucky shot and run the Imp through; the force is even sufficient to make it slip out of its invisible state. Then you follow up the stab with a quick and well placed slash with a dagger and reduce the Imp to a pile of bubbling ichor. Looking around the room once more, listening out for any signs of activity, your heart races. Imps can be tricky at the best of times and their poisoned stingers can be brutal. However you've come this far, maybe you'll get lucky again. What do you do? [[Rules: Posts are Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, whichever option receives the highest vote will be acted on. 12.01.2022 Well it looks like 2020 hasn't finished making it's mark with yet another delay, this time just Commander Legends Draft Boosters, luckily this one isn't long. We have noticed that everyone is excited for this set and we know the frustration (Benny & Cris haven't stopped talking about it)... First, Games Laboratory is going to extend the pre-order price of the Draft Boosters until the new date or until we get the full order, and we have done a re-stocking order to be sure to h...ave plenty for you. We also ordered some more Collector Booster boxes & Commander Decks so if you missed out now is your chance!! I have included the post from our distributer and WOTC -- Thank you for understanding and stay safe everyone. --------------- Wizards of the Coast have announced a release date change for Commander Legends draft boosters, the new release date for draft boosters is the 4th of December. The release date for collector boosters and commander decks remains the 20th of November. The reason the release date is changing on draft boosters is because there isn't enough stock in the country right now. However, LPG does have enough draft boosters to approximately fulfil about 50% of your orders. We've been told that we'll be receiving the rest of the draft boosters at the end of November/start of December. Next week LPG will be dispatching collector boosters, commander decks and draft boosters to you. On this first shipment you'll be receiving about 50% of the draft boosters that you've got on order with us, with the remainder to be sent out as soon as they arrive (we're crossing our fingers and hoping that the WotC shipping gods will get them to us in time for release). 09.01.2022 Poetry for Neanderthal is the new hit game from the creators of Exploding Kittens. It’s a competitive word guessing game that will test your skills and have you in stitches the whole way through. You have 90 seconds to get your teammates to guess as many words and phrases as they can to earn points and win the game. However, you can ONLY use single syllable words for clues. Your word is potato. Your clue might be ‘dirt circle, what taste good when mash’... But be careful, if you mess up and use a big word like ‘growing’ or ‘underground’ you’ll get bopped on the head with the NO stick and lose points. Can you best regress and score highest for victory?
08.01.2022 You come to a stop next to the door on your right, ready to dive through it just in case. Then with your free hand you trace patterns in the air, mutter a few w...ords and squeeze the chunk of amethyst around your neck. All of a sudden four floating orbs of pure white light appear before you. Two of the lights were conjured part way into the room of potential danger and now thanks to them you have a very clear view of what's ahead. 3 small red skinned creatures with leathery wings, scorpion tails and multiple sets of horns are scurrying about in a small antechamber ahead of you. As the lights flash into view these creatures hiss and grimace at the sudden change in light. You suspect they've seen your shape and roughly where you are but in this moment of sudden brightness they may not have a clear idea of who or what you are. What do you do? 03.01.2022 Taking the time once again to reach out with your magical senses, you ritual cast Detect Magic to learn about these objects. It seems 4 of them, all appearing v...ery similar to each other, are not inherently magical but are excellent finely crafted magical conduits. They are a matching set of dueling wands, probably if a wizardly disagreement took place and the parties would come in here to settle their disagreement. The two remaining wands at the end however are a different matter. Each of them holds magic within them that can be released on command. One looks like a twisted and warped piece of metal with a fine leather grip at the end, and looks like it will channel evocation magic. The other contains ornate spider motifs around the tip and will channel conjuration magic. Even if you don't use the dueling set of wands they would sell for a pretty sum, and the other two wands could be very useful in the trials ahead. What do you do? 02.01.2022 Lazy Sunday Review: Ctrl Hi, I’m Rory! You may have seen me behind the counter at Games Laboratory. This week we’ll be looking at another quick & fun game, which would be excellent to bring along to your next picnic. The curiously named & familiar looking cube game called Ctrl. Ctrl is a newer games, released very recently in 2020. It’s so new it hasn’t had time to be nominated for any awards. The premise of the game is simple & abstract. Your goal is to use a series of colou...red cubes to dominate as much of the central cube as possible. The play area of this game is a black cube with slots on the outside to hold a 3 x 3 area of coloured cubes on each face. All but the bottom face of the cube are available to be claimed. At the beginning of the game each player only has one cube & a flag to mark their territory. On a players turn you remove your flag then perform two actions; you place a cube adjacent to one of your other cubes, then you place two more cubes in a line adjacent to the first cube. Finally, you place your flag on the side of any of your cubes; this causes parts of the play area to be unavailable to others on their turns, calling dibs for later rounds. As you play, you can & will need to place cubes on top of your opponents’. It’s the best way to win because of how points are scored at the end of the game. Once all cubes and flags have been placed, count how many of your cubes are visible from all 6 sides. If someone covered the top of your cubes with their own, they will take away points from that angle but if the sides are still visible you get some points. Once counted, the player with the most visible cube faces will be the winner! Ctrl is an interesting game that encourages players to focus on spatial reasoning & planning ahead. It’s quick to play & is decently re-playable with different play groups. There are some issues with how well the cubes mount to each other & the centre cube if you’re too vigorous though so I recommend being careful while passing it around. I would suggest Ctrl as a great warmup game, palette cleanser game or something to play outside that won’t get carried off by the wind.
