Some special violin from Irish on this version of a tune that takes us back to the Carters days of The Gamis! We hope that this tune might remind you of some of the aces left by those who aren't with us anymore. Here is another iso track for you all!
16.01.2022 Hey Family, Hope you have all had a great start to the year! Wagon Wheel is an old favourite of ours, not many people know that the chorus of the tune was written by Bob Dylan in 1973. It was then discovered on a bootleg tape during a family holiday to London by teenager bandmates from Old Crow Medicine Show and turned into a full song 25 years later. Here is our version, stitched together by Irish Gami during the second lockdown of 2020.
11.01.2022 Interesting story behind the tune...with your host Baby Face Gami: 'Ring of Fire, made famous by Johnny Cash. The song was originally recorded by June Carter's sister Anita Carter. After hearing it, Johnny had a dream where the tune had Mexican horns through it. He told Anita that if she didn't have a hit with it he would release his own version. Six months later he released his version with the now famous mariachi style horns. The tune was written by June Carter and Merle Kilgore about falling in love with Johnny. In our version the horns are played by Croccy on the harp.'
