25.01.2022 This guy is a little ripper! Born yesterday, dam Saber Balcara and sire Ganado Tayto. Meet Ganado Saturn

24.01.2022 This would have been quite a nice shot of G12 and her calf Romeo if 5 month old boof head Renaissance didn't come in and steal the limelight!

22.01.2022 The weather is a bit dreary today with another few ml of rain falling throughout the morning. This photo of 'Rona' in black & white that I took last month seems fitting. He's got a lovely head and kind eye on him and is growing into a lovely natured young bull.

21.01.2022 There is no better Mummy than a Mummy that sits in your cool room all day wearing your dressing gown to pick & pack your customers meat orders . Love you Mumsy

20.01.2022 Them Monday feels

17.01.2022 Welcome to my new followers For those who don't know me, I post awesome photos of cows on here. If you can't handle the cuteness (which I would completely understand), then I guess you should go NOW while you can still stomach it. For those who can endure an endearing bovine (and sometimes dog, horse or sheep) photo each day, then sit back, relax and enjoy the show ... If you like what you see, please share my posts and tag your friends. It wouldn't be fair to keep this treasure to yourself FYI, this is not a selfie, I've got green eyes...

15.01.2022 I am wrapped to have a heifer calf born overnight from Ondiong M90! Sired by Ganado Tayto, there should be no reason this girl doesn't go on to be a high volumed, structurally sound matron herself . . On Instagram? Head on over to @ganado_greys to see more photos

14.01.2022 Do you think this is the cow equivalent of doing 'bunny ears' for a photo

14.01.2022 Regulator and 'Bev the porka' sharing a tender moment. I love the earthy tones and different textures in this photo

13.01.2022 The last Autumn cow to calve... Ondiong M110, due Sunday (based on 283 days gestation). She's one of those cows that gives no real indication of calving, then next morning there's a little ferret running around always keeping you on your toes

12.01.2022 This gorgeous girl is one I'll be keeping an eye on. She's out of my 2018 show heifer Ganado Anna 2nd, and by Ganado Tayto. It's only early days yet, but I was admiring her little caboose as I was loading her in the trailer on the weekend (there's not many industries you can get away with saying that about a young female these days ) But with Onward & Ondiong breeding on the dams side and Monterey & Saber lineage on the sires side, she's shaping up to have all the traits of a lovely, functional female.

12.01.2022 Some cows are easy to photograph, they'll stand up proud, ears forward, head up, gazing wistfully into the distance.. Then there are cows like Saber Balcara Have a happy Monday everyone!

11.01.2022 Last night's golden hour was pretty magical Watching over Annabel and her new calf

11.01.2022 Missing Melbourne!

10.01.2022 It's hard when you're the size of a small bus on stilts and gravity is against you!

09.01.2022 Hey everyone, It's halter training season again for Ganado Greys! And this time I'm going to record a vlog of every session! If it's anything like previous training programs you'll see the ups, the downs, the wins, the fails, heifers having tantrums, rope burn, cow kicks, and eventually a well trained animal that you see in a show ring Subscribe to my new YouTube channel below (it's free!) to see the progress of my cattle as they make their way from paddock drab to show re...ady fab! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNVz8f76uLUZ2KUlxXyoXRQ The first video of day 1 training (today) is uploaded to kick you off. Hope you enjoy watching See more

08.01.2022 Attaboy Tayto 100% confirmed pregnancies today from his winter joining, including a couple of lucky cows that had previously returned empty! A couple of my A.I cows confirmed in calf too And as a bonus, an extra stud calf due this year too with one of my suspicious looking "unjoined" heifers confirmed indeed pregnant at only 15 months of age

07.01.2022 A good day for ducks. And baby Opal We've had 4.7ml overnight, and still raining

06.01.2022 Crop is growing well

06.01.2022 Nursery of champions

06.01.2022 This guy! Just 9 weeks old and so thick! He's a complete out-cross so if he continues to grow out nicely he might find himself with some very important mating business to take care of this time next year

06.01.2022 I nip to the supermarket and miss out on all the fun! This little guy must have just fell out of 10 year old Vicky! He's tiny and already up and drinking and walking around. Just 1 more cow to calve this season now

03.01.2022 Debbie had a Debbie

03.01.2022 That's a wrap on my 2020 stud calving, and what a phenomenal year it's been! 5 different sires used over cows and heifers. 96% unassisted calving and live calves. Exactly 50/50 bull to heifer ratio after an early run of bulls. This beautiful heifer the last of the stud calves born today! ... Just one more commercial girl to go, but not till November so in the meantime I'll just enjoy watching the cows & calves make the most of the excellent season and start thinking about the next AI and joining program See more

03.01.2022 My how they grow! L - R: Romeo (3 months, sired by Pancho), Renaissance & Rona (5 months, sired by Tayto).

02.01.2022 I can't get enough of this bull He's been in with another small mob of cows & heifers for the last 6 weeks, and I'm really happy with his autumn drop calves so far. The plan for Playboy is to offer him for sale at the MG National next year as a senior bull where he'll be 31 months old. I can't wait to see him grow out and mature even more over summer.

02.01.2022 I'm sorry you all can't experience the Ganado Greys difference....

02.01.2022 Ok brains trust, I've got a curly one for you this morning... I had 2 beautiful healthy calves born overnight, a bull from first time calver Bernice, and a heifer from a commercial girl (both pictured). On inspection in the paddock, we found a 3rd non-developed premature calf, dead. The calf on the commercial girl is quite small and very fine, which is not typical of my calves this year so the thought crossed my mind as to whether she could be a twin? So my question is: is ...it possible for twins to develop at such different rates for 1 to be born healthy and the other underdeveloped? OR if one of my other cows still due to calve had slipped hers what would I notice about the cow? I've only got 2 left to go, one due now (so unlikely hers given how underdeveloped the calf looked) and one due in November. But both cows still look 'pregnant' with no blood or discharge or signs of calving at all.... Picture of premature calf in the comments for comparison...

02.01.2022 It's meat packing day at home today, and the most recent steer looks absolutely delicious! With reviews like these from the last steer we processed, there are going to be some happy customers walking away with these beef packs. Corned beef was delicious!!! Best I have ever had!!! So tender and there was zero fat!!!... I’ll take 20kg of mince next time Mum made sausage rolls and again zero fat and they are the best she has ever made Your beef is so good that it's worth the wait. So delicious and tender We’ve had the eye fillet, sausages and osso bucco...everything has been amazing so I shall now crown you my official ‘beef supplier’ "thank you so much. so far we have had. t-bone , roast , mince and chuck steak.... it is all fantastic meat. thank you again. OMG - the sausages I’ll buy 10kg please. We’ve just had some more Ganado Greys - Murray Grey Cattle Stud beef for dinner and I reckon we might have to place a standing order. It’s bloody good meat!! We had your beef tonight. It's all so good!!!! Loving your beef!!! We've had snags, mince, stews ... and tonight we had the rump steak! So tasty. Loving it!! Your sausages! The best ever! Serious!!! My mum doesn’t eat sausages . anyway I was feeding them to the kids and gave her one. She thought they were delicious and wants me to order her some on my next order Tonight we had Ganado silverside, freaking awesome. Slow cooked in dry ginger ale - do yourself a favour and get on it!! Oh wait, you made it.....top stuff Courtney

02.01.2022 SOLD OUT The last of my bulls for 2020 have been safely delivered to their new home near Geelong today. Thanks to Chris for the purchase of Ganado Qualifier (pictured), I'm sure he will thoroughly enjoy his time at your beautiful property with your Greys

01.01.2022 "Rainmaker" born overnight and bringing 10ml of the good stuff with him

01.01.2022 Remember how young calf Anna was orphaned a couple of weeks ago due to possible snake bite? Well I'm pleased to report that she's doing well. She runs around sneaking drinks off anyone who will let her, and doesn't seem to have had any ill effects from the sudden loss of her own private milk supply. I have moved her into a paddock with older cows and calves since this photo was taken though, the first calf heifers don't need the extra strain of feeding two hungry babies. Sharing is caring
