25.01.2022 Everyone forgets their resuable cup from time to time, so we started a loan cup system in the cafe to reduce the amount of cups ending up in landfill. It was great! Except after a while we had no cups in the cafe... Turns out its easy to leave the cup you borrowed at home too So towards the end of last year we started using the @greencaffeen free reusable cup scheme. The system works a little like borrowing a library book: borrow a cup and return it within a certain period and you dont pay anything! If you dont return your cup by the return date you are charged a fee through their app. But you dont have to return the cup to us, you can return it to any cafe that uses Green Caffeen - easy! So next time you visit us for a takeaway coffee why not try it? Download the app now so youre ready to go!

24.01.2022 Today is Tins last day at King Street (but for real this time) She recently completed her pastry chef qualification and will be moving down the road to Cow & Moon. We feel privileged to have been part of her hospitality journey (she had never made coffee before working with us - can you believe it?!) and have no doubt shell be making award winning gelato in no time. Youll be missed, Tin!

24.01.2022 How are your #stayhome coffee making skills coming along? Weve been firing up the trusty espresso machine and practising steaming some milk. Swift blend flat whites are tasting like & , while Graceland is all . Which is your favourite?

24.01.2022 The cafe is open tomorrow (26th) but closed Monday (27th) for practical reasons. Always was, always will be Aboriginal land

24.01.2022 King St will be open 8am to 12noon both Good Friday & Easter Saturday for your essentials. Closed Sunday and Monday.

22.01.2022 Delicious, ethically sourced coffee, lovingly produced by award winning roasters. What more could you ask for?

22.01.2022 During February, approximately 25% of all coffees made in our King St store were lovingly sent on their way in reuseable cups. This is not only saving cups from landfill, but also rewarding those customers with a small discount each time to thank them for making the effort. Hopefully we can reach 100% reusable cups in the not too distant future!

21.01.2022 Hi Fam Firstly, we wanted to thank you all for your amazing support during these crazy times. We really do appreciate it. We also need to let you know our King St caf @gandt_kingst is still open with a few adjustments due to the new spacing requirements announced yesterday. After ordering, we ask if you can please wait outside for your order and we will run it to you. Unfortunately we can no longer have seating inside, however wed love for you to take a seat on the window benches outside and enjoy some sunshine. A reminder we cant accept reusable cups at the moment and contactless payment preferred. Big love from us all

20.01.2022 Things got a little crazy at King St yesterday, with our retail shelves ending up much like most of the supermarket aisles - empty! We are fully restocked and ready to help you get through the next few weeks at home. What method are you using to brew?

20.01.2022 On the 7th of May, the Nyabihu region in the north of Rwanda suffered catastrophic mudslides. 28 lives from coffee communities were lost, as well as the destruction of homes, community infrastructure, coffee producing land & trees, food crops & livestock. The Shyria Coffee Washing Station & Vunga Cooperative have suffered damage estimated at over $86,000 USD. Household incomes in the area average less than $700USD per annum. These families have now lost their crops & income ...for the coming season, as well as the assets to earn future income. Raw Material & Muraho, some of our green coffee partners, have launched a gofundme appeal to help with immediate needs & ongoing support recovery. We know 2020 has been hard, however a small contribution to this community would be greatly appreciated. https://www.gofundme.com/f/Rwandan-landslide

16.01.2022 New filter alert Burundi Mageyo will be hitting the shelves tomorrow. The Mageyo Mill is one of 13 mills involved in the Akawa Project, an initiative created to help coffee farmers in Burundi secure a fair price for their coffee in a sustainable and equitable way. We are proud to be able to support this project for the second year in a row (you might remember we had the Burundi Kajabura last year), especially when the coffee tastes this good. Think yellow stone fruit with a green apple acidity delicious!

14.01.2022 Next week we are roasting our washed process Ethiopia Guji two ways - for filter & espresso! Grown at high altitude where the Rift Valley meets the Blue Mountains, its a creamy & balanced coffee which we think tastes like earl grey, lychee & lemon. Order online for delivery to your door or pickup from @gandt_kingst.

14.01.2022 WERE BACKWell be slinging coffees today until 2pm at King Street. See you there!

13.01.2022 This month we had the privilege of being the featured roaster for the @samecup subscription. We roasted our Mexican coffee from Cirina, Juana Y Gloria. For those who have been following us for a while, you will recall that @samecup is an organisation run by Demelza (pictured here with Matt) focused on inclusivity in the coffee industry. Head on over to their page to see more about the subscription and what @samecup is all about. Thanks Demelza for having us and thanks @mrhonz for capturing this very serious cupping moment. Also @hillsdeecoffee for the lovely painting in the background!

12.01.2022 A few weeks ago we changed milk suppliers at King Street and are now proudly serving dairy milk from @littlebigdairyco We made the switch as Little Big Dairy share our quality and ethical standards. The family-run company is committed to sustainable farming and prioritise the health and happiness of their herd of 800 Holsteins. Each bottle of milk is traceable back to the very cow that made it and, honestly, it tastes fantastic with coffee come in and try it for yourself!

02.01.2022 On International Womens Day, wed like to take a moment to reflect upon, as well as voice our appreciation for the many women who have contributed & advanced the local & international coffee industry, the Grace & Taylor business & also our personal lives. To help celebrate we are featuring a coffee from three Mexican female producers - Cirina Leonila Lopez, Gloria Aquilina Lopez Ortiz & Juana Alejandrina Garcia Lopez- who courageously decided to completely renovate their individual plantations to battle against leaf rust. Undertaking new farming methods & planting new varieties, the resulting coffee has been outstanding & we are very excited to share the result of their hard work with you at our King St caf. @ Grace & Taylor Coffee Company

02.01.2022 G&T ON KING STREET IS 2 TODAY Sending our love (extra, because its Valentines Day) to everyone who has supported us over the past two years. You guys make us excited to go to work and for this we are so grateful

01.01.2022 Hey G&T Family, Matt here. Could you please help us shout a nurse a coffee? Ive been opening the cafe over the past week, and the quieter early hours tend to give me some "thinking" time. I can escape the constant churn of trying to keep the cafe and roasting business afloat, and think about all my fellow hospo friends as well as our community who are doing it much harder than we are. Looking out at the street, I often see Royal Prince Alfred Hospital staff walking to and... from the train station. We have a number of regular customers - nurses, admin and support staff, as well as doctors - who are all working extra hard to ensure we get through this COVID-19 crisis with the best medical treatment possible. Every few days we shout them their coffee, a small gesture to say thank you. We are going to expand this offer to any NSW Health workers passing by, but to do this Id like to ask for your support. I know its been a tough year, and many of you have already shown overwhelming support for the recent bush fire events (dont they seem so long ago already?!). If you could spare $4, head to the linked website (gandtkingst.square.site) and order a coffee. Please add in the notes that its for the RPA. G&T will also match every donated coffee, because we are stronger together. If by some slim chance we dont use up any donated coffees, we will donate the remaining amount to an RPA associated charity. If you know any RPA staff, please let them know to call in, flash their staff ID and enjoy their coffee (the cafe is Grace & Taylor, 292 King St, next to the Suncorp bank). https://gandtkingst.square.site
