24.01.2022 To all our amazing customers, we are so excited that we were able to re-open for sit down service as of yesterday (Thursday 17th September), and it was lovely to see so many familiar faces. We have been busy updating our menu and preparing to be COVID-safe. We have sanatiser stations,’ signage & check-in information throughout the café and our friendly staff will be able to help you to ensure that we are complying with the state government guidelines. Our first priority is ev...eryone’s health & safety, so please be patient whilst we navigate the implemented rules & changes. Please remember that you must be a Regional Victoria resident to be able to dine with us, as yet we are unable to welcome Metropolitan Residents, we appreciate your understanding and we reserve the right to refuse any non-regional residents to the café. As per the guidelines we must continue with records for contact tracing, and social distancing will still be in place. Face masks are required to enter the café. We can accommodate a maximum of 10 per indoor space (2 spaces) and 50 outdoor in our courtyard. Things to remember when making a booking and entering the Gaol Café: Upon entry all guests must sign in with name and mobile number Face coverings must be worn when entering and leaving the Cafe Face Masks can be removed while seated to consume food and drink Maximum duration is 2 hours Maximum booking allowed is 10 at a table All tables in the cafe will be a minimum of 1.5 metres apart Only visitors from Regional Victoria are currently permitted Call us on 5765 4010 to make a booking to ensure we can accommodate you. 23.01.2022 Dan Andrews has announced today that as of 11:59pm on Wednesday September 16th, Regional Victoria will move to Step 3 on the road map to reopening. Which means we will be able to reopen for sit down dining as of Thursday 17th September. Although the indoor dining is very limited, we will be able to accommodate the full allowance of 50 outdoor patrons. We have plenty of space in our beautiful courtyard and will be taking bookings / reservations from when we open tomorrow at 1...0am. We will be able to accept walk-ins however due to the high number of enquiries we have already received and the capped number of patrons we suggest you book to avoid disappointment. We will post more information in the next 24 hours. 05.01.2022 OKAY LEGENDS - It has been a hard year for everyone on so many different levels. Everyone has been affected in some way shape or form, some more than others, emotionally, financially and personally. Sometimes when we go to sleep at night some things weigh heavy on our minds and it is hard to sleep, however, every morning when we wake up, we get to choose if today we will be happy or sad, we get to choose if today we will be the light or the dark in our day, our families day, ...or someone else’s day. It is easy to see the negativity, to see the dark rather than the light, to try to put the blame on someone for the situation we find ourselves, to even have feelings of hate and total frustration. For everyone in Victoria it has been so easy to lean into the darkness lately, to feel hard done by and to wonder will this ever end? - YES it will end and hopefully very soon and we have so much to be proud of, our efforts and support for one another has been outstanding! We are nearly there - it’s been a marathon not a sprint! No matter what gets announced by the Victorian Government this week, next week or the week after, please do not be angry, it is an emotion that leads to distress and hate and it will get you nowhere, instead let’s get excited for what will come next, let’s get excited about getting together with family and friends, visiting our loved ones, taking that trip we missed out on, being able to leave home to do whatever it is that you want to do. Be happy and enjoy your day, lift each other up, help each other out and most of all and most importantly, smile and laugh. When you go to bed at night think about all the positive things in your life and make a conscious effort to wake up happy tomorrow! Every great story has its good and its bad, its fall and rise - let’s get ready to reclaim our lives, to reclaim our towns, our cities and the great state of Victoria! We are all aware that mistakes have been made along the way it has been far from perfect, the future will hold accountability.
