25.01.2022 We’ve ended the week on a high! 149 students today, a big assembly and whole school bball comp in the afternoon! Thanks to the supportive parents, enthusiastic students, brilliant Yolngu and Balanda staff, Josh (also brilliant) Andre and Carl from EARC and our community ALPA crew! This week I hope every Gapuwiyak student has gotten to see our challenging and diverse curriculum, high standards and our positive school attitude! Can’t wait to see what next week brings.

24.01.2022 We were all smiles last Thursday for the Lake Evella Festival! It was a jam-packed day full of football games, spear throwing and a colour run! We also enjoyed a barbecue, music, a lantern parade and a special Bollywood performance by one of our own teachers. It was such a special day where we came together as a community to celebrate this amazing place. Thanks for all the hard work everyone put into making it such a success and a day we won't forget

23.01.2022 Yo Bukmak! Get ready for another exciting week of school at Gapuwiyak. We have 3 weeks left until the holidays and some great excursions and footy trips coming up! Let’s keep the next few weeks strong!

21.01.2022 Today Gapuwiyak School learned all about our ears and how important it is to keep them clean and healthy. Exploring the giant inflatable ear helped us to understand how our ears work. We also had the opportunity to see inside our ears with a camera which was super cool!

17.01.2022 Gulun Story was created by the students and staff of Bapi Class with the help of Daniel Silver and Christine Birrkin. The students illustrated the story and had their voices recorded as they read different parts. It was so much fun to be a part of and the class are so proud of what they created. 09.01.2022 Today is Indigenous Literacy Day! Gapuwiyak School celebrated by inviting families into classrooms to share in their child's learning. We then ventured outside with some giant pillows, amazing stories and some yummy damper to finish! There were some lovely moments captured as we enjoyed the gift of books and reading. Thank you to everyone who joined us to support our school and our kids!

04.01.2022 Yo Bukmak, A big congratulations to our 2021 School Captains as voted by the secondary school. School Captains: Geraldine Gurruwiwi and Lloyd Wunungmurra... Vice Captains: Tylanta Wunungmurra and Kenneth Malibirr We have a month of exciting learning, excursions and activities at Gapuwiyak School so let’s keep up the great effort to get every Gapuwiyak student to school every day!

03.01.2022 Gapuwiyak school were very lucky to have a surprise visit from Healthy Harold today! We had lots of fun learning about safety and how to be a good friend as well as how to keep our bodies healthy and happy!

01.01.2022 Bapi Class have been exploring art using natural materials found in our environment. We have been searching for beautiful things to create various artworks. Today, Daniel joined our class and we created amazing mandalas that told a story through pattern and colour!

01.01.2022 Happy Friday! Congratulations to our student award winners for this week and our 100% attenders for this week who got to enjoy a delicious ice cream!
