24.01.2022 Hi people in face book land our town needs your support. Waratah in Tasmania is a town of 250 people with breathtaking scenery and a rich history which we are t...rying to promote as a tourist destination but last night we were dealt a savage blow by Tas Water. Waratah reservoir dam is to be drained and removed before winter as there are a couple of leaks in the wall and this will happen because the public servants now deem this to no longer be an asset to them. All they are doing is shirking their responsibilities of maintaining this beautiful site. the dam is over 100 years old with repairs done in the 1970s and is home to the threatened freshwater crayfish, galaxis, trout plus unique wetlands and rain forest with a diverse bird population. Platypus and frogs this is enjoyed by many people as a fishery and we have been promoting this as a tourist destination. While Taswater do not regard this as an asset to us it is an integral part of our tourist plan. please like and share to all your friends all over Tassie as we are going to fight and the more people out there that know the better as it could be your patch next See more
