21.01.2022 I have been enjoying trying some new techniques in my artwork. After years of oil paints and graphite pencils, why didnt I try coloured pencils sooner? Just need to find the right textured colour paper. Anyway, here is my portrayal of Morgan Freeman.

09.01.2022 In the 1960s Dr Martin Luther King had a dream, and John and Robert Kennedy had the political will to support him. The basic civil rights of many Americans were transformed due to Dr Kings work. Challenging the status quo was a risky thing and all three men paid the ultimate price. For the next few months we are asked to stay in our comfortable homes and communicate with each other electronically. A small price to pay for the good of the wider community, while acknowledging it will cause hardship for some. I have long admired these men, so when I decided to try a new medium, using white pencil on black paper, I chose these men as my subjects. An interesting change from using grey pencil on white paper!

04.01.2022 About a week after I did my Morgan Freeman portrait, Shawshank Redemption was on TV. I hadn't watched it for a very long time, so I watched it, and was inspired to do this picture. Colour pencil for the faces, and the background with graphite ("grey lead") pencil, on grey card.
