Like many I had looked for years, every Birthday, Father’s day and Christmas my wife looked, my mother looked we have all looked for tasteful automotive designs on quality T’shirts ... Sound’s simple..right?! But we could never find anything that reflected the quality of the car; if you love a Porsche you want a T’shirt with a design that reflects the quality and style of a Porsche I love drawing cars I have drawn then since I years 6 years old, I am a graphic designer so 7 years ago I decided to create a T’shirt with tasteful car designs that I was proud to wear. With a little business experience we started Garage79 in Ballarat, Victoria with my wife Heidi why Garage79? Because I was born in 79. Being local is important to us and when we started we screened printed everything in Ballarat but our customer wanted more options different colours T’shirts, full colour prints, bigger size range, women + kids so we moved to digital print service our of Melbourne. We will print some items in Ballarat and all of our posters, greeting cards and packaging in printed in Ballarat, Victoria. With digital service there is more choice for our customers, you can now select the colour and type of T’shirt, and our sizes go up to 5XL. I design everything from scratch it takes hours to create each design, I often hand draw the design first and then spend hours designing it by hand electronically. The designs are my interpretation, the cars are usually what I like, what looks interesting, what cars have a following and what we will think our customers want to wear. So now I have a fleet of good looking T'shirts I love to wear and last a really long time!! And NOW car lovers who appreciate quality and most importantly cars have apparel they are proud to wear. This was one of the first T’shirts I ever designed and it is still around 7 years later. I am very lucky I get to design car apparel and then wear it.. a dream job I say!
