18.01.2022 Ready for one last crack. The cars got pace but race 1 and 2 yesterday the car came to a dead stop on track. Traced back to issues with the fuel pump relay, hopefully I've sorted it to get through today.... One positive, we've got good tyres so look out for a charge through from the back

17.01.2022 Time for Tin Lizzy to head home. After firing up for me initially and seeming to run 'okay', thw following day i could not get it to start no matter what i tried... leaving my hand bloodied and a sprained (possibly fractured thumb) due to me slipping off the crank handle It turned out although it looks to have been lovingly restored, the inside of the motor told other stories. With the side covers off i found one exhaust valve stuck wide open and some really wide clearances... (non adjustable valves) With the head off it was extremely carboned up. After freeing up the valves i found most of them to be heavily pitted, therefore requiring re-facing. So with valves re-faced/hand lapped, acid bathed head and surfaced with a modern silicone gasket, valve clearances tighter than Henry recommended... she runs beautifully. 11.01.2022 Welding up parcel shelves seems to be the hot mod of 2020. Doing the last few bits of metal work on the 'stang before it heads off for body and paint. The owner wants to be able to take his little gremlins for a skid in the future, so I've strengthened up the parcel shelf as per the engineers recommendations to be able to support ADR approved child anchorage points.... #ford #mustang #metalwork #goatstang #skidforkids @ Garagista

Here's some straps to hold down a 205l water ballast drum for a client that I cut, rolled, folded and drilled yesterday. 04.01.2022 Had this rather clean and original 911 vert in the other week. It had been sitting for a while so the brakes had siezed and a fuel leak had appeared. I had to get a little creative with the TIG to get a rounded off caliper bolt out. Being an ex UK car the bolts were fairly well rusted to say the least. #porsche #911 #sc #3.0 #aircooled #fuchs

01.01.2022 It's never easy to do brake line plumbing after the fact when everything else is installed. Add in trying to make some space for a remote booster and Volvo 240 calipers with their twin brake hoses and things have to get a bit creative.
