23.01.2022 Why plants need to be repotted more often! Lucky this fibrous root system is easy to disentangle and trim back but trees and shrubs will grow a large tap root down through the drainage holes in the pot into the ground and spread or will girdle (strangle themselves); either way the plant will be doomed. The soil also loses quality and needs to be changed. So aim to repot your specimen plants about every two years to keep them healthy and happy

19.01.2022 Removal of split leader rubbing other stems and included bark. Leaving the split trunk could lead to fungal issues and weakness in the trunks as well as creating entry points for pests and diseases.

08.01.2022 Sometimes you need a little support! If your plant needs staking make sure to use a minimum of three stakes. Plants need to develop strength in their stem so they can stand up on their own eventually, so they need to be able to blow around a little bit! Create a 'cage' around the plant as an alternative to stop it from blowing over but still allowing for adequate movement.
