25.01.2022 How's this for a soil profile. This was this morning at the northern end of our vineyard, Barossa Eden Valley. We love our trees but their greedy roots need to be removed. By digging a 900ml trench with heavy duty plastic added as an underground barrier, is how it's done. Surprising how dry it is as we have had a good start to the wetter months.

20.01.2022 And it's another gong for the Cab/Refosco Thanks for a great review Winestate Magazine This wine blend began over 7 years ago with the Refosco vine cuttings snapped up from Victoria and hand reared in our vine nursery on the Garden and Field estate. Hand planting, watering as they are dry grown and teadeous care were the main activities to get these babies to grow. Drought has delayed the vines to produce enough fruit until our first pick in 2017 allowed enough for a fiel...d blend alongside the Cabernet. The 2017 vintage sold out pretty quickly and now the #2018vintage is ready for you to start puckering up and enjoying a sip or two. A few extra additions to be completed once our weary bodies recover from this huge and very rewarding task. 'Knock it down', builders said, it won't be worth the trouble. But for some who have the utmost respect to history and the people that created this beautiful place, we feel it's all about patience and alot of hard work

05.01.2022 A quick snippet at our private Anzac Day dawn service with special friends from Royal Military College, Duntroon Certainly the photos don't do it justice but it was the most heart warming, respectful Anzac day commeration we have attended. Some now retired and some not, but all together a special crowd of generals, majors, captains and service men. Lest we forget

04.01.2022 I was hoping to be in Inverell NSW this Anzac day but hopefully next year to pay tribute to my grandfather Clifford Osborne Cruwys; 6th light horse regiment in WW1. He enlisted at the age of 15 and began in Egypt as a personal despatch rider to General Royston. I look forward to researching much more and visiting his resting place, where he was honoured with a military funeral. Lest we forget.
