Our challenge was to create an outdoor space for family and friends, to entertain or just wind down after the week day pressures. Everything was removed to create a levelled area. ... Stone pavers softened with turf and warmth added with Oregon timber sleepers forming a large planter. Tiered stair landings and bench added to the wall to increase the entertaining area. Advanced plants soften the fence and a tired rio mesh screen added for privacy. Advanced grafted maple potted and added to the lower tier. A lovely Finish for a lovely family. Gx

02.01.2022 Some of my first projects were in town houses in Melbourne. They have this appeal, that secret garden quality about them. That potentially perfect backyard sanctuary. They must be easy to maintain as access is sometimes tricky and the area often needs be stretched to fit in all the necessities. If you are lucky you have two little pocket gardens to enjoy. ... This was the case here and we created two beautiful areas to enjoy. The rear yard had stone pavers added and pergola was constructed to cover the entertainment area. Synthetic turf was added and a fully automated irrigation and light system was also installed. The pergola was constructed using new timbers and recycled pier posts from WA. The front courtyard was softened with foliage plants, and to open the area up we removed a wall. Reclaimed pier posts were then used to construct a growing frame for climbing plants to invade. Stone pavers and and a canopy tree added to soften the corner. All you need is a Pinot Noir and a cheese board. The end results was two areas to enjoy alone or with family and special quests. G
