25.01.2022 Hello Farm Families, As numbers of attendance begin to increase we would just like to share some reminders of important protocols and procedures we will need your help in adhering to, to continue minimising risk and maximising safe practice. Please read the following reminders: Controlled drop-off & pick-up: please remember to ring the doorbell and remain outside the building until an educator can meet you at the door and facilitate hand over.... Social Distancing- Please remain 1.5 meters apart when waiting to drop-off or pick-up. Please continue to encourage and role model 20 second hand washing, coughing/sneezing into elbows and "hands away from face" at home. If your child is showing any signs of sickness- sore throat, runny nose, cough, lethargy, temperature- keep them home until they are well. We will continue to uphold strict hygiene practices, disinfection times and monitor our staff and children closely for any signs of sickness. We also continue to implement our flexible indoor/outdoor floating routine to allow more space between children. We will endeavour to keep you closely informed on any developing news and how this may affect you. Please give me a call or email if you have any specific questions. Thank you for your ongoing support. Miss Theresa- Service Director.

10.01.2022 Hi Farm Families, Last Friday on May 8 Gardner Farm celebrated Australia Day for 2020! Why on May 8 you might ask? Well, leading up to the Australian Government’s official allocated day to celebrate our amazing country, Service Director & Ed. Leader Theresa led our Gardner Farm Educators on a deep dive into the issues surrounding celebrating Australia on January 26, through several Professional Development sessions. Following this, our team decided that as of 2020, Ja...nuary 26 at Gardner Farm will be a day of acknowledgement and commemoration for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, families and friends- to pay respect for what they have endured historically. And to be leaders and advocates in the community supporting a #changethedate movement we believe should occur nation wide. We also believe it is important to celebrate Australia and all its wonders so we chose a date that was popularised by a change the date campaign 3 years ago...May 8 (because maaaaaate). We believe the humour aligned with this date perfectly encapsulates a great part of the Aussie Spirit. If you are unaware of the issues surrounding Australia Day on the 26th of January we encourage you to research it online. There is a vast array of credible learning resources that explain the issue very well. Alternatively, come in and have a chat to me, I’d be more than happy to answer any questions or curiosities you may have. Please enjoy some beautiful captured moments of our Australia Day celebrations: exploring our nations flags, native Aussie animals, favourite Aussie foods, beautiful Australian landscapes & things unique to our incredible country...just to name a few. EYLF Outcome 2.1- Children develop a sense of belonging to groups and communism’s an understanding of the reciprocal rights and responsibilities necessary for active community participation. #GardnerFarmLife

04.01.2022 This week Gardner Farm is busy exploring Reconciliation Week’s 2020 theme #InThisTogether through stories, art, songs, and Yarning circles. Today is #NationalSorryDay so Gardner Farm would like to acknowledge and pay our respects to all families affected by the deep trauma of The Stolen Generations- trauma with affects still being felt today by many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families right across the nation. The National symbol for Sorry Day is the native P...urple Hibiscus. We hope to spread awareness and help educate our community on this occasion. #ReconciliationWeek2020
