07.01.2022 Title defence on the line The senior boy’s intercollegiate golf team at NLSC have continued their momentum in round three of the Queensland Intercollegiate Golf Championships recently held at Hills College. Hills College took advantage of some local knowledge and a home course advantage to shoot some fantastic scores which included an 8 under par round off the stick! Our senior team played some solid and consistent golf to combine for third place in the team’s nett division,... which puts the college in a strong position to defend our title from last year. We also continue to have success in the individual competition, with Lachlan (pictured below) taking out the overall boys nett division with a superb 64 nett (8 under his handicap). The team will be using the valuable program time during and after school to prepare for the final round to be played at the prestigious Indooroopilly Golf Club early next term. We wish our boys all the best in their maiden title defence and fingers crossed we can keep the trophy for another year. Three students from the College recently represented Metropolitan North in the State Schools Championship in Kingaroy early this term. Bailey (12K), Liam (10F) and Ti-Shon (12H) all played well on a course that provided a real challenge to players, especially with the dry conditions we have been experiencing. Although our boys did not make selection for the state team, their scores will give them a lot of confidence as they prepare for a busy tournament schedule leading into the summer months.
