24.01.2022 What on earth is this? Common sense? a rational opinion? something that actually addresses all aspects and arguments of a conversation? Good onya Bec, although it seems mind boggling that you should have too say what seems so obvious to so many, thank you for standing up against what can only be described as "shit". ... https://www.examiner.com.au//shooters-fire-back-at-criti/
23.01.2022 This is typical misguided ideological policy by green centric Hobart city council. SFF have been strong advocates for a buy local, support local Tasmanian busin...ess however it such not be so myopic as HCC as to create artificial boundaries. We as Tasmanians must unite together across the state to forge an economic recovery and build a better Tasmania. If HCC really wants to help local businesses fix the parking meter rip off See more
22.01.2022 Ive never in my life answered so many emails and messages from people. Its actually brilliant to see just how many people care enough about their vote to reach out. Please have a read, this might give some of you a bit of an insight into me I guess. Ive cropped/blurred out certain parts to keep their identity anonymous, and acidently "thumbs downed" their question with my fat fingers while trying to edit it
20.01.2022 Why buy imported potatoes when Tasmania has the best. What’s your favourite Tassie spud. https://www.facebook.com/1676894405877717/posts/2808256546074825?d=n&sfns=mo

20.01.2022 Well, its done, voting has closed and now we wait for the results... Just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who helped me, let me put signs up, questioned me, interviewed me, asked my position on things, and just generally showed support. Honestly means the world to me ... Oh, and good luck to all the other candidates too. Everyone, from what I can see did their best

18.01.2022 ELECTION SIGNS If anyone in the Huon electorate would like to have one up at their home, business, back of their truck, anywhere, let me know. Ill even come put them up for you if you want ... Ps: sorry the back drop isnt that pretty, but these werent just bought and picked up by "someone in admin". These were thrown in the back of my work car, then on the way home I traded a carton of beer with a mate for an eyelet punch for the weekend so I can punch all 400 eyelets in them myself in my spare room.
17.01.2022 Great to see. https://www.facebook.com/1676894405877717/posts/2810723575828122?d=n&sfns=mo
17.01.2022 A great initiative to able to watch on line. Who is going to dress up for the virtual mid-winter festival?
15.01.2022 Come in this Saturday, lets talk hunting. You have 4 hours to talk 100% pure hunting, the laws in Tassie, things you hate, things you love. Anything, come chew my ear off.
15.01.2022 So tomorrow is probably the biggest day as far as the whole election goes, (for me anyway) ABC radio interview first thing in the morning with all the other candidates, meet with a couple people who want to have a yak, then interview with The Mercury, then a zoom interview with the Huon valley rate payers association. Thought Id have a bath while I jot down my thoughts, get out briefly to go to the toilet (apparently to quickly), and wake up on the floor. Full blacked out ... Never happened before, but of course it does the day before one of the biggest days of the campaign. Any who, please dont think Im being rude by not taking off my beanie tomorrow, its only because Im trying to cover up this scratch. Back in the bath now, all is well
14.01.2022 Couple more that went up over the weekend
13.01.2022 Came down to the shack to "campaign", was going really well, then I tripped, fell over, and ended up fishing and cracking a beer. The big day tomorrow

13.01.2022 Apologies, I thought 30% battery would be more than enough for a live feed.... phone had other ideas
12.01.2022 Tonight i had a chat with Andrew Winwood from TDAC and Michael Frydrch from Springfield deer farm about the proposed feasibility study into commercialization of wild tasmanian fallow deer. This proposal as you will hear, will not deliver any positives for the Tasmanian deer farmers or traditional hunters and its not something we should support.
11.01.2022 When your name tag wont stick to your oil skin vest. Improvise. Adapt. Overcome
11.01.2022 Look who is coming to your area soon, no better time to grab a cuppa and a copy of the Kingston Classifieds as well as the Cygnet, Huon & Channel Classifieds, happy reading.
10.01.2022 You have to wonder at times what goal the Invasive Species Council is trying to achieve and whether they really care about the cute, fluffy animals they use to ...entice donations from you! As far as we can tell, the main species they are targeting here in Tasmania are wild fallow, brown trout and the recreational hunters who currently help manage them. The council want deer and trout to be reclassified as feral. They want to see the complete eradication of both these species from the landscape. And they want hunting to be stopped. Yet they are deathly silent on the issue of feral cats in Tasmania, All three species are introduced and therefore considered invasive. But let's break down the problem. Certainly both fallow deer and brown trout can have a negative impact on the environment. There's no denying that. But the impact can be managed through recreational hunting and fishing programs that keep the numbers down. Both fallow deer and brown trout are game species, and as such, bring in significant economic benefit to our state, both through licensing and tags, and through tourism (intrastate, interstate and international). A recent survey found that deer alone contribute $2.4 billion to the national economy through the sale of tags, licenses, equipment and tourism. With a little ingenuity, Tasmania could build a healthy industry off the back of recreational deer hunting and fly fishing (the latter is already a very popular tourist attraction). Recreational hunters and fishers are also known to spend considerable amounts of money when visiting, particularly in rural and remote areas that may struggle to attract tourists otherwise. Fallow deer and brown trout are also an important food source for many Tasmanians, reducing our reliance on factory farming, and reducing our overall carbon footprint for food production. Many Tasmanian households consume significant amounts of wild sourced game foods. On the flip side, feral cats add nothing to the environment or the economy. They are a huge drain on both. In fact, feral cats have been tied to the extinction of 19 of the 21 native species that have become extinct in Australia. Left unmanaged, feral cats could quite literally wipe out our most vulnerable native wildlife. Now the Invasive Species Council acknowledges the problem of feral cats. They even acknowledge the statistics on the number of species the cat has been complicit in killing off. They even have a picture of a cat on the front of their feral animal page. Yet all their programs focus on removing wild deer and wild horses from the environment. Their feral animal page even has a section that downplays and derides the role recreational hunters play in managing feral and game animals in Australia! They list their 'WINS' as the continued work to have deer recognised as a feral pest, and their work to stop hunters from having any influence on the management of animals in Australia. Not one single 'WIN' that involves protecting vulnerable wildlife against feral cats! So we ask the question again - why is the Invasive Species Council so hyper-focused on deer and trout while largely ignoring a more existential threat - the feral cat? Why aren't they doing everything in their power to curb the feral cat problem? Why don't they support compulsory containment of pet cats? Why are they working so hard to remove the ability for Tasmanians to put affordable, sustainable and healthy wild game meats on their tables? Why do they view recreational hunters as part of the problem instead of part of the solution? We would really love to hear their answer because their actions don't make a lick of sense.

05.01.2022 Gel blasters are toys, why the government thinks otherwise is just plain crazy. What do you think? https://www.facebook.com/1676894405877717/posts/2762263507340796?vh=e&d=n&sfns=mo
04.01.2022 Well worth listening to, this guy is a scream. The subject is about mainland politics but still worthy for Friday Funnies. https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=q1muY4gEqCE
04.01.2022 Primary health services are under resourced or just not available. For most of us its difficult to obtain a doctors appointment in a timely fashion, let alone find a doctor who will bulk bill you. Just because you might work does not mean you have the funds to cover the gap fee. As a result many people are avoiding their GP and then presenting to hospital with more serious health problems.
04.01.2022 What an absolute champion. And on a side note one of the best subtle mullets Ive ever seen This represents exactly what Im about, a bloke having a go, helping people put meat on the table that they have raised. The true definition of "home grown". You raise an animal for meat, that animal has a great life, you know exactly what that animal has eaten, how its been treated. Then you get Dave the local mobile butcher in to help make that last transition before it meets your... plate. Honestly Stoked to have him on board Dave gets all around the state so definitely hit him up if youve got some of your own meat to process and dont have the means.
03.01.2022 Working, running my business, and campaigning has not been easy. Ill be honest, its been a hell of a juggling act. Gotta make sure the kids still get their dad though. Today was a good day

01.01.2022 So by now most of you realise that we didnt get the Guernsey to have a run this time run. BUT, we did get some good numbers. Thank you to each and everyone of you that supported me, helped me out, let me put signs up, donated money, sent messages of support, pushed me and drilled me with questions. It honestly means the world. Work has been absolutely flat out, so I havent had a chance to pull my signs down yet, it was going to be this weekend but the weather is off the show, so thats next weeks job now. Thanks again everyone, and no this isnt the end, tis just the beginning
