12.01.2022 Four years ago my father Clive was diagnosed with vascular dementia and I became involved in his journey with this challenging condition. Having just graduated as a nutritionist I was truly shocked by the lack of advice and support offered by medical professionals. I read everything I could regarding treatment protocols for cognitive decline, including dementia and Alzheimer's disease and discovered a wealth of scientific research and studies supporting the value of a nutriti...onal approach for these conditions. This approach can sometimes slow down, and in some cases reverse the signs and symptoms of cognitive decline. But more than that, people suffering from this condition are now offered HOPE and can do something CONSTRUCTIVE to improve their quality of life. Family and friends also have the opportunity to actively support their loved one during this difficult and fearful time. Knowing that there are some proven strategies to cope can give us a sense of purpose, restore hope and allow us all to face the future knowing that we have at least done our best to improve quality of life.
